NFC Divison Showdown: Giants @ Eagles: Lil Pun this one is for you. The Eagles have cruised along this season to 4-2, now this is their first real test against the Giants who are coming off two straight losses. I am predicting Giants win, sorry I grew up in Brooklyn so have some ties there. Vikings @ Packers: ESPN will be all over this from pregame routines to Favre's walk to the stadium to what he pooped in the motel(s) he rented for his entourage. Honestly I would like nothing more than Rodgers to outshine the old fart and finally prove that Green Bay is better off without the circus of Favre. I'm taking the Packers and Rodgers for a huge day 300 plus yards 3-4 TDs. Falcons @ Saints: Unbeaten Saints host the somewhat struggling Falcons. It should be a great battle of QBs and I am going with a gut feeling, the Falcons are going to use the Miami film and carve up a huge running day with Turner and co. Upset numero uno. Now the only other game semi interesting is undefeated Broncos @ Ravens. This my 2nd upset of the week. Ravens lost a nailbiter to the Vikings a few weeks ago where the defense finally looked like it was clicking and Flacco was just amazing in the 4th quarter. So I think the Ravens are going to put together a good gameplan and execute it well to hand the Broncos their first loss. No other game looks noteworthy maybe 49ers-Colts to see if Alex Smith is any good or that was a fluke against the Texans. Also the VY fans will be out in full bandwagon mode, look for him to struggle early and get benched nonetheless. Bud Adams will finally die of a heart attack and Houston will take care of business with Buffalo therefore ending the curse on the same day!
YES YES. I've been waiting for this thread all week. Nothing better than a Raiders - Chargers rivalry right moes?
Falcons are struggling in the secondary and I doubt Turner carves up the Saints D. If the Falcons win, it will be on the shoulder of Matt Ryan. Titans go to 1-6, somehow finish 8-8, and everyone wonders how Vince Young wins games with more interceptions then touchdowns.
Rivers has never been all that against the Raiders but.... I'll be picking up the Chargers Defense of waivers though.
I have no problem with that. 1. Remember two years ago when Osi cemented his Pro Bowl bid with six sacks against the Eagles? Remember who started on the Eagles offensive line opposite him? Do you know who will be starting on the Eagles offensive line this week? 2. Do you remember who carved up the Giants in their last regular season meeting? Will he be there this week? 3. Have you seen McNabb's numbers versus the blitz this year? 4. Do you really want me to keep going? Look, I'm not picking against the Eagles I'm just saying it wouldn't be a shocker to see them lose.
Has young been confirmed to start? I saw that Adams is pushing it but Fisher is nothing if not stubborn. It doesnt matter on offense if they cant get a pass rush anyways. I believe Garrard will have a good unharassed day Sunday.
I am interested in hearing your view on the Eagles' season so far. I think they've been very fortunate to have only 2 losses with all the injuries and problems with the offensive line. I still stand by my argument that Vick is pretty much usesless in an Eagles uniform. Miami was the better fit with the amount of Wildcat snaps they've had. On the Eagles, what's the word on Wesbrook after that concussion? Hate to see their best player go down especially with the next two against division rivals.
The offensive line had been pretty good up until last week. Before the Raiders game, they only surrendered six sacks, the second best in the league at that point. The last two games they have given up 9 sacks. Peters was injured during the Raiders game and Herremans came back during the Washington game and I think that hurt them in both situations. I think we'll finally start to see some continuity on the line but I would not be surprised to see some growing pains here and there. They have a big test against arguably the league's best front 4 this weekend. Vick has only played in 4 games and though his effect has been minimal I still think he is just trying to pick up the speed and all the elements of the game pretty much like a rookie quarterback now. It's hard to get that feel back playing 4-5 downs per game and a lot of those downs being nothing more than a decoy. I wouldn't be surprised though if teams take that for granted and Vick busts a big play on them. Westbrook had/has a concussion and will be a game time decision this Sunday but my bet is he won't be playing. He was knocked unconscious and suffered from some type of short term amnesia. He may be out the next 2-3 games but I would love to have him back. He slashed up the Giants linebacking corps last year. The offense has sputtered since the team blasted Tampa Bay in week 5. I blame some of that on McNabb but remember, he is still playing injured. I blame most of it on coaching. Reid has heard it over and over again but he needs to get more running plays in there. I don't think they're lucky to have just suffered two losses, I mean there were several sources picking the Eagles for the Super Bowl this year. Their early schedule was easy and the Raiders loss tends to get over exemplified. They are now entering the roughest part of their schedule with three straight division games and others coming up against Denver, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco and three more division games. I think we'll know more about where this team is heading in 2-3 weeks. Right now, I give them a B-.
Every week I say LT will have a bust out game and he proves me wrong. BUT....... This is the week LT rushes for over a 100 yards and scores a couple TD's. I swear!
He is going to explode, but in the press conference, because he is going to be frustated with the team, and like always blaming the QB. the Broncos-Ravens is going to be a good game, lets see how good is the Broncos defense.
Cable just got raked through the coals. lolololol. Wow. This guy is pure scum. Oh the joys of Raider fandom.
