Ben Roethlisberger just got carried off the field in a stretcher and it does not look good for him.

Steelers are going to have to ride Byron Leftwich now.

 

I need the eagles to completely own the cowboys... both for fantasy and for a side bet..

 

that sucks.....I always liked Big Ben. Hope he is alright.

 

It has to be bad for Minnesota when they are getting torched by David Carr.

 

[Knock on Wood] They're saying it's a concussion. The first round bye is key. Hopefully, its nothing serious and all will be well by the time we play again.

You won't be seeing any knee-jerk reactions from me. I still would have played the starters for a quarter or two despite this being a meaningless game. I can't wait to hear the skepticism and critics berate Tomlin for doing this, though.

 

Thanks for the update. I agree with Tomlin and think most people won't blame him. For those of us who can't watch the Steelers game, please keep us posted if any more info comes out.

Will do. The local news stations and the official radio broadcast have all confirmed the concussion. The neck brace, stretcher and all that was merely a precaution. He's been taken to a local hospital for observation. You definitely get the vibe he's expected to recover fully.

 

You think the players are making a statement about Herm Edwards? When it comes to effort, I think he's done a good job getting them to play hard.

 

What else is there to wager? I have to keep my sig until Dallas loses to the Eagles.

 

I don't ever want any player to get hurt. But this has been one of the guttiest regular seasons in Steelers history and it would be a shame if Big Ben was fully recovered for the playoffs. For him to take so much punishment over the season and for the team to be so resilient, but not to get their fair shot at the Super Bowl would be a travesty.

 

And I hope that's not today.
