this is an idea I heard about this morning, and I thought it would be fun to implement on the BBS... if there is enough interest.

EDIT:
I have composed an official set of rules. For those of you who read my "tie-breaker" post, please ignore it. The idea has been removed from the rules for obvious reasons.
The official rules are as follows:

Goal: Be the last man/woman standing

Rules:
1. Choose 1 NFL team each week as your lock to win their game. Point spreads are not counted.

2. Each team can only be picked once in an entire season. Therefore, once you choose a team in a given week it cannot be chosen again for the entirety of the game.

3. Tiebreaker: If we get down to the final week of the game, and all remaining contestants choose a losing team for the week, the game will be extended for an additonal week of play for the remaining contestants. This rule will be implemented until one contestant is left standing. If after the final week of the NFL season there is still a tie, the game will be extended into the playoffs. If in the unlikely chance there is still a tie after the playoffs, we will count the Pro-Bowl as the final game. If the tie is still not broken, than we will have multiple champions.

Deadlines:
1. A thread for each member's selection will be posted, by myself, on the Tuesday of each week. Remember that some weeks have Thursday night games, therefore please pay attention to the NFL schedule.

2. All submissions will be accepted until 1 hour before kickoff of the first NFL game of the week.

3. No editing of submissions. Once you submit your weekly picks, they are locked.

4. If you forget to submit your choice or miss the 1 hour deadline, you are automatically dropped from the game.

Consider this thread a signup sheet for the league.

As for Week 1 of the NFL season, since the 49ers and Giants already played, that game obviously can't be counted. Hence picks can only come from Sunday's games...

Please post if you're interested!

I have 30 people in my suicide league although we pick the loser each week. The rules are the same as you cannot pick the same team twice. I am picking the Lions to lose in week one, so if you decide to put this together put my week one winner as the Dolphins.

Our company does this every year and has over 125 entrants this year alone. The pot is over $2500 for the winner! Last year, the winner was crowned by week 4! That's how upset-friendly the NFL was last year. In fact, because of that, we had 2 distinct "Survivor" leagues in one year last year. It was craaaaaazy. I've got 2 entries this year, and I'm looking to make some serious dough. Poppa needs a brand new bag!

I'm a gambler by nature and I've never heard of this type of pool, but it sounds real cool so I'm ready to give it a try.
