Gotta go with the Pats, and not just bc I'm biased. You kidding me? With a top level running game now?

AFC East: Patriots AFC North: Ravens (I think the Bengals struggle early with Palmer) AFC South: Colts AFC West: Chiefs WC: Titans, Steelers NFC East: Cowboys (my homer pick) NFC North: Packers NFC South: Panthers NFC West: Seattle WC: Eagles, Saints AFC Champ: Ravens over Colts NFC Champ: Panthers over Eagles SB: Ravens over Panthers
I tell you what - I am enjoying people not giving my Broncos any love. The Chefs can't stop anybody; the Broncos improved their defense. We don't need Portis (even though he is my boy); we have the dominant Denver O-Line runblocking scheme. Anybody, and I mean anybody, can run for over a 1,000 yards with that line. Broncos will at least be a wild card (barring injuries of course).
I see alot of Experts picking the Bengals to finish with a good record. Is Carson Palmer that good or is the rest of the Bengal team that good??
People love the Bengals because of their improvement last year. I think they are a team on the rise but with Palmer starting they're going to suffer initially. Palmer looked good in the first pre-season game and has shown flashes but keep in mind a lot of teams don't show all their defensive packages in teh pre-season (especially vs a rookie). Personally I see them starting off very slowly and finishing up very strong. They'll end up around .500. Godd thing is their division is weak. Cleveland is horrible, Pittsburgh will be better, the Ravens need an offense. I say the Ravens get 10 wins, the Steelers 9 (I think they slide into a WC spot), Bengals 7-8 wins and the Browns maybe 6. So IF Palmer could play well they could compete for the playoffs very easily, but I just don't see it happening. They have an above average defense but I think the Offense hurts them.
The "experts" are also giving the Jaguars a lot of love as well. They do have a strong defensive front, and I guess Leftwich is good, but is he really?
i think the jags will be better. i'd argue there's no better division than the AFC South, save maybe the AFC West.
My only prediction for this NFL season is that David Carr will get a haircut on Monday November 8th, after the Texans score back to back wins against the Jaguars on Oct. 31 and the Broncos on Sunday November 7th. Other than that, this season is wide open!!!
Don't be so sure about the Chiefs not stopping anybody. I have faith in Gunther Cunningham, who coached the Chiefs defense in the Schottenheimer era, in which KC was always near the top of the league in TO differential. The Chiefs will give up quite a bit of yardage, but they will also force more mistakes...I expect them to be like the first 5 games of last season, when they were forcing turnovers leading to blowout wins. You are right about the Denver running game though...I think Quentin Griffin is gonna look like a stud in that offense. AFC East: Pats North: Pittsburgh South: Indy West: KC WC: Denver, Buffalo I think the Ravens are a better team than Buffalo, but the Browns and Bengals both look competitive so I think that division will beat up on each other. Denver gets easy wins against San Diego and Oakland. New England and KC should be shoe-ins. NFC East: Philly North: Green Bay South: Carolina West: Seattle WC: St. Louis, Minnesota Pretty much the same contenders as last season, except this time Minnesota gets in. I think Detroit is a big sleeper, they could win 8 games at least. Wild Card Round KC over Buffalo Denver over Pittsburgh Carolina over St Louis Green Bay over Minnesota Divisonal Round Indianapolis over Denver KC over New England Philly over Green Bay Seattle over Carolina Championships KC over Indianapolis Seattle over Philly KC over Philly
die hard -- i'm not knocking you, personally, at all. but man, it would be really hard for me to ever pick the chiefs to win the super bowl. very talented team...but i just never get the impression that they're a championship team. i know john mclane is picking them.
Raiders getting absolutley no respect. They aren't going to win 12 games, but they aren't going to be pushovers either. Now San Diego is a different story, they have a horrid team with a stud in the middle. Kansas City doesn't have the components outside of Holmes and Gonzales to reach the big dance unless Hall shines in the elevated amount of offense he'll be playing this year. Cunningham may be a decent coach but the Kansas City Secondary looks awful once again.
