It's that time again. The season starts on Thursday with Oakland at New England. How do you think it will pan out? Here are my predictions... AFC East 1. New England - ain't no reason to think otherwise 2. New York Jets 3. Buffalo 4. Miami - could be worse than last season AFC North 1. Baltimore - Defense is still awesome and they will improve greatly on offense. 2. Pittsburgh 3. Cincinnatti - I'm not convinced 4. Cleveland AFC South 1. Indianapolis 2. Jacksonville 3. Houston - preseason was just that...preseason. 4. Titans AFC West 1. San Diego - they could be better than last year 2. Denver 3. Oakland 4. Kansas City - DJ will be def. ROY, but it isn't enough NFC East 1. Philadelphia - They don't have to talk to each other to be good. 2. Dallas - as much as it kills me to say it, they will be better 3. NY Giants 4. Washington NFC North 1. Minnesota - most improved team 2. Green Bay 3. Detroit 4. Chicago NFC South 1. Atlanta 2. Tampa Bay 3. Carolina - I personally think they're overrated 4. New Orleans - this will be an impossible season for them. Inside 1 week to play and they don't know where that will be. It would make an amazing story should they be successful, I just don't think they've got the defense. NFC West 1. St. Louis - this division could be over by week 8 2. Seattle 3. Arizona 4. San Francisco Playoffs AFC Wild Cards - Pittsburgh & Jacksonville AFC Division Winners - New England, Indy, San Diego, & Baltimore NFC Wild Cards - The Bay's - Tampa & Green NFC Division Winners - Philly, Atlanta, St. Louis, & Minnesota Super Bowl Indianapolis vs. Philadelphia I think Indy's defense will be greatly improved. A major coup to end up with Corey Simon. Philly is still Philly. TO is still TO. Because Philly is Philly, it won't be enough, again. Indianapolis wins their first Super Bowl since relocating to the midwest. As far as the Texans go, I see another 1 game improvement. 8-8 is about it. There is still something missing from this team. I think it will lead to the expulsion of at least Chris Palmer, if not the entire staff. Palmer has to be the least exciting OC in the NFL. I still am not blaming David Carr for what seems to be a lack of improvement. The line is still bad. The play calling is worse. He does have to make some better decisions, but look for his first 20 TD season. The defense will improve. I think Babin will have a good season. Peek will have his good moments and his bad. The Buchanon-Robinson combo will be very good. On Special Teams, I am looking foward to seeing Mathis run kicks back. I think he'll have a few td's this season and will help to give the offense some decent field position. 2 things JJ Moses never did.

AFC East - New England AFC North - Baltimore AFC South - Indianapolis AFC West - Oakland Wild Cards - Pittsburgh and New York NFC East - Philadelphia NFC North - Minnesota NFC South - Atlanta NFC West - Arizona Wild Cards - Dallas and Carolina Anyone know why Bill Belichick decided against replacing Romeo Crennel and Charlie Wies? It's like he wants to prove to everyone that he was the brains behind the Pats, seems like arrogance which will lead to bad karma, no home field advantage. That's why I'm picking a Colts vs Ravens AFC Championship and as always, defense will win. The Vikings and Falcons in the NFC Championship with the Falcons advancing to the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl the Raven's defense will dominate and everyone will say that all Vick could do is get his team to the Super Bowl. 2005 Rushing Champ: Clinton Portis 2005 Receiving Champ: Torry Holt 2005 Sack Leader: Dwight Freeney 2005 Breakout: Steven Jackson 2005 MVP: Daunte Culpepper 2005 Defensive Player of the year: Julius Peppers 2005 Offensive Rookie of the Year: JJ Arrington 2005 Defensive Rookie of Year: Demarcus Ware 2005 Coach of the year: Dennis Green

AFC East 1. New England - I think NYJ or Buff could leapfrog NE for the division if the qb situation holds up for either team 2. New York Jets - good on paper, scared of Chad's shoulder 3. Buffalo - good on paper, scared of Losman 4. Miami AFC North 1. Baltimore - d will carry them once again. O should be better but still shaky at qb. 2. Cincy 3. Pittsburgh - Ben looked crappy at the end of the season last year, and looks horrid in the preseason. Crap rbs + loss of Plaxico hurts. 4. Cleveland - will look better in their losses AFC South 1. Indianapolis - d still sucks, but they are built for regular season play 2. Jacksonville 3. Titans - mvp calibur qb in McNair + a better rb stable will help the team be more consistant this year 4. Houston - mediocre team with little depth. AFC West 1. San Diego 2. Denver 3. Oakland 4. Kansas City - not impressed with their additions on d. Concerned about Green's surgery. NFC East 1. Philadelphia - even if they didn't have TO, they still have the depth to win the division 2. Dallas - will finally be able to pressure the qb, making them a good d once again 3. NY Giants 4. Washington - offense will be worse, defense will be worse NFC North 1. Minnesota 2. Green Bay 3. Detroit 4. Chicago NFC South 1. Carolina - played tough last year through a slew of injuries. Delhomme is for real. 2. Atlanta 3. Tampa Bay 4. New Orleans NFC West 1. St. Louis 2. Seattle 3. Arizona 4.
