releases tonight at 6:00 Houston time. The Texans will have the following games: Home: Indianapolis Colts Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans Kansas City Chiefs San Diego Chargers Baltimore Ravens Dallas Cowboys New York Giants Away: Indianapolis Colts Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans Denver Broncos Oakland Raiders New York Jets Philadelphia Eagles Washington Redskin Goodell also said this morning that all week 17 matchups will be divisional games. As well as having I think at least 28 divisional games in the last 3 weeks of the season. Anyone have predictions on how the schedule will look or on possible prime time games?
The commish said this morning on Mike & Mike that all Week 17 games will be division games. They're trying to diminish the possibility of teams tanking in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully the Dallas game at home will be a Sunday nighter.
I think the Cowboys @ Texans smells like a Sunday or Monday night game and I'll go with the Chargers or Colts game being a Thursday or Sat night late season game.
Texans @ Jets on thanksgiving. Cowboys @ Texans in primetime...can't decide what day exactly. Week 1 @ Eagles, or @ Titans.
I meant to add that NFL.com has the Texans with the #1 difficult schedule next season based on records from last year. http://www.nfl.com/schedules/interactive?icampaign=schedrelease_hpstrip#/team=HOU
Ugh, that sucks. Just on quick perusal I see only two obviously easy games: KC and Oakland. Maybe you can add Washington to that.
Just by looks, every single game will be difficult. KC will almost assuredly improve. Jacksonville will likely be better. Oakland will probably still be Oakland. Otherwise everyone else is a potential playoff team.
Before seeing this post, I was about to say that this looks like a tough schedule. More good news for Houston sports!
I keep going back and forth between: 1) We're going to get hardcore dissed with zero Sun/Mon games and one Thursday nighter @ the Raiders. 2) We'll have two Monday nighters (Cowboys/Colts) and a Sunday and Thursday nighter for good measure.
I tend to feel the same way. I know Cowboys v Texans will be huge in state, but right now the Texans don't have a much following anywhere else. I would love it if it were a Monday night game or even the Thanksgiving match up but I don't see it being big enough to warrant one of those types. I think Sunday night is just about right for it, take advantage of the cowboys national appeal and the States rivalry game. I think the Texans get at least one Monday game, probably against Indy, one of the NY teams or maybe Baltimore.
Predictions: Texans/Cowboys on Sunday night. The Cowboys play half their damn games in primetime anyway, don't see why this one wouldn't be. Texans/Colts on a Monday night. We've had some great games the last 2 years with them, even though we've been on the wrong end of them.
Sweet merciful Moses that is a hard schedule. I hope this team has shaken it's tendency to start slow, because I have a bad feeling the first month of the season is gonna be rough if they haven't. Oakland is the only game that can be called a "gimme", and given the way they played at the end of the year, that's not even 100% true anymore.
Crap. we play the colts twice!! The NFL has done a good job in keeping the schedules from leaking. I remember the past few seasons, we were already discussing Ws at this point in time. I'm really not worried about the difficulty of the schedule. Houston finally has a talented football team that can beat any team on there.
