Some more players: "12. Arizona 7-9 Phillip Buchanon* CB Miami (Fla.) Buchanon is the best raw athlete of the cornerbacks, and he will get better with experience. Buchanon has size, speed and natural coverage skills, and he also shows some flashes as a punt-return specialist. " "15. New York Giants 7-9 Toniu Fonoti* OG Nebraska Rarely does an interior lineman rate so highly on the draft board, but Fonoti (6-4, 330) is the exception. He is massive and nearly impossible to beat at the point of attack. Even though he played in the Cornhuskers option offense, he shows quick enough footwork to hold up in pass protection. Fonoti would be a big improvement at left guard. " "29. Green Bay 12-4 Ashley Lelie* WR Hawaii Lelie is on the scrawny side (177 pounds) but has great height and is an explosive deep threat. The addition of a young, play-making receiver like Lelie would allow Antonio Freeman to take a more realistic role as the team's possession receiver and take pressure off Bill Schroeder on the opposite side." PHILLIP BUCHANON MEASURABLES Height: 5-11 Weight: 183 40-yard dash: 4.52 Bottom line: Buchanon emerged as a starter this season and developed into a shutdown corner. He also became a playmaking punt returner. He has exceptional ball skills and is an elite athlete. He has good coverage skills, instincts, hands and running skills. He has adequate size and speed, but his ability to turn and run makes up for some mismatches man-to-man against bigger receivers. Buchanan still is improving and could develop into one of the top two or three cover corners in his class. TONIU FONOTI MEASURABLES Height: 6-3 ¾ Weight: 332 40-yard dash: 5.38 Strengths: Is a young, massive, dominating interior lineman. Is a strong run blocker. Is a widebody with natural strength and power. Plays with good leverage, and will overpower defensive linemen at the point of attack. Is not mobile, but gets good position. Set a Nebraska school record for pancake blocks during three-year career. Has an outstanding base, and is nearly impossible to overpower. Is less dominating in the passing game, but got away with size and strength. ASHLEY LELIE MEASURABLES Height: 6-2 ½ Weight: 177 40-yard dash: 4.50 Bottom line: Lelie is a tall, lanky receiver with good speed, spectacular hands and big-time playmaking skills. His numbers as a junior were astronomical, and he played his best in big games. He knows how to get open, will make spectacular catches and is consistent despite frequently facing double teams. Lelie needs to bulk up, could have trouble getting clean releases off the line and doesn't have track-star speed, but he still is a first-round prospect. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. RB #7- Eric Crouch. Height: 5-11 ¾ Weight: 191 40-yard dash: 4.55 War Room analysis Strengths: Was a productive runner in Nebraska's option offense. Is an outstanding athlete with top running skills for a quarterback. Is a natural leader and a proven winner. Is tough. Shows good vision and balance as a runner, and is elusive with a burst in the open field. Weaknesses: Doesn't have a position heading into the draft. Is not an NFL quarterback from a passing/arm strength standpoint, but hasn't much experience as a running back or defensive back. Bottom line: Crouch will be better off as an NFL running back or defensive back. He is an excellent athlete, especially as a runner. Crouch does not have the arm strength or passing skills to be an NFL quarterback. His running skills are outstanding, and he has a good frame to bulk up, which is why we feel running back will be his NFL position. All from TSN.com, a good sports site.
Travis Stephens Height: 5-7 ½ Weight: 180 40-yard dash: 4.55 Strengths: Has a good combination of speed and quickness. Shows the ability to score if he gets in the open field. Runs with good vision and balance when attacking the second level of the defense. Finds cutback lanes well, and is effective reversing field. Is not overly shifty, but is elusive -- will make people miss in the open field. Shows impressive change-of-direction skills. Has the ability to pick and slide to holes along the line of scrimmage. Plays much bigger than size would indicate. Is squatty with good lower-body strength, and will use center of gravity to bounce off tackles. Is productive as a receiver. Shows the ability to catch passes on the run and away from his body. Could be a productive situational/change-of-pace back in the NFL. Weaknesses: Is very undersized. Lacks height and bulk. Durability has to be a concern. Breaks tackles in college but might not in the NFL. Will not be an every-down back. Will have trouble blocking in the NFL. Has a history of fumbling. Bottom line: Stephens finished as one of the top backs in the country his senior year, but the fact he is vastly undersized and he struggled miserably against LSU in the SEC championship game makes him a dangerous back to draft. He has good, not great, speed and outstanding quickness and elusiveness, but size and durability are concerns. Stephens is not an every-down player. If he continues to improve as a receiver and blocker, he could be a productive situational player.
