NFL rating are starting to go down. Whether it is Kap or bad match ups or baseball or over saturation the rating are down. Having the Colts-Texans probably didn't help either, but the overall trend isn't looking good. However they still beat the NLCS which is kind of sad for baseball.

it was an awful game from the start between two mediocre teams in the worst division in football. There was no reason for anyone who was not a colts/texans fan to pay attention to that game.

Live sports was the last bastion for TV/Cable but it appears to be showing cracks. NFL isn't immune and will have to adjust.

Its still out-drawing other sports, by far. It's still the #1 rated primetime show when its on.

Like has been said earlier... they probably need to recalibrate how ratings are truly measured.

The last time I saw a game was 4 years ago. Biggest reason is I don't want to waste so much time watching commercials.

I think it was 790 morning show saying that the quality of O lines have dipped across the league, and it's effect is apparent in the crappier and inconsistent QB play. Your best rbs are David Johnson and Demarco Murray, maybe Zeke is becoming a spectacle.

Likewise there's no big names on defense either. Kuechly's part of the worst defenses out there, and the legion of boom are hurt and losing as well. Your tackle and sack leaders are both on the Bills, who's only national exposure was a TNF game, which is prone to bad football already on top of it being an uninteresting matchup.

It's not Kap; the primetime games aren't what they used to be.

Seriously NFL can't ignore this. There are way too many commercials, way too many. Sometimes it feels like you are just watching one long ad with a football game sprinkled in there. It's to the point that if I watch a football game I have to have my phone with me so that I can mess with that during the 50th car commercial.

Add another snooze-fest to the mix after last night's game. Thursday night games have absolutely no luster. They need to go back to all Sunday day games with Monday night being the big game of the week.

It's also a "Quarterback driven league" and the quarterbacks suck now or don't play. Here's every team's QB situation from the view of a casual fan (bold are the negative QB situations):

NE - Brady missed first 4 games, but is consistently great
    BUF - Who?
    NYJ - Who?
    MIA - Tannehill sucks

PIT - Big Ben is hurt AGAIN, will miss 4-6 weeks
BAL - Flacco has fallen off since Super Bowl win, and is banged up
CIN - Dalton can't win in the playoffs, so who cares?
    CLE - HAHAHAHA

HOU - Brock is meh so far
TEN - Marriota has upside, but was hurt all last year
IND - Luck is great, but gets injured a lot and the rest of the team is awful
JAX - Bortles is starting to become disappointing

    DEN - Who?
SD - Rivers is consistently above average
OAK - Carr is looking like a possible MVP
KC - Alex Smith is up and down meh

DAL - Romo is always hurt, but Dak is exciting because he isn't bad lol
PHI - Wentz looks like he can play
NYG - Eli is past his prime
WASH - Cousins is ok I guess?

ATL - Ryan is having a great season
    CAR - Newton is imploding
    NO - Brees is declining

TB - Winston still is a question mark

SEA - Wilson is top 5 QB
    SF - HAHAHAHA
    STL - Case Keenum? lolz
    ARI - No one reliable

GB - Rodgers is having a bad year
MIN - Bridgewater hurt, but Bradford is playing well
DET - Stafford is the definition of average
    CHI - HAHAHAHA

When you base your entire league on one player for each team, and over half of them are bad, you have problems. The only reason for an average fan to watch a Thursday night game between two random teams is if they have a player on their fantasy team.

This year's Thursday night games so far:

Week 1 CAR @ DEN (I didn't watch because I was out of town)
Week 2 NYJ @ BUF (I watched for a few minutes, because I thought that was interesting that it was on Twitter)
Week 3 HOU @ NE (I watched because I'm a fan of the Texans)
Week 4 MIA @ CIN (Nope)
Week 5 ARI @ SF (My brother had it on at his BBQ cookout, otherwise didn't care)
Week 6 DEN @ SD (Nope)
Week 7 CHI @ GB (I watched half of it because I had a fantasy player)
