I'm sure a good amount of you watched the game tonight. Bledsoe was taken out after the first half. Dallas lost and are now 3-3. I think Bledsoe isn't good enough to be a starter anymore and that Romo is going to be a better fit. However, I think this season's over for the Cowboys, as far as playoffs hopes are concerned. There are a couple reasons why I believe this. 1) They are 3-3. The Eagles (my team) haven't played well the last two weeks; however I still think they'll go 11-5. The Giants will get at least 10 or 11 wins. 2) Romo's going to face pressure he never has faced before. I think he'll be better than Bledsoe is now, but it will take time for him to become a good starter. 3) TO's going to explode pretty soon. Especially if he and Romo don't click right away on the field. 4) Even though Bledsoe is immobile their offensive line still sucks. Bledsoe was tossed around in the first half against the Giants. Some of the time it was his fault for being immobile and for holding onto the ball too often. A couple other times it was the lines fault. Like when Strahan went untouched to sack him. 5) Finally..... They are that good anyways. I think that Romo won't be able to win games for them. However, I think that Bledsoe can't either. Either way I see them going anywhere from 6-10 to 9-7 (but most likely closer to 6-10). Their offense= Overrated Their defense= Not good enough. If the offense doesn't score points it doesn't matter anyways. I just wonder how long it will take for Bledsoe to retire and how long it'll take for T.O. to lose it for good....
I've been telling all my dallas friends that either TO or Parcells wont finish the season, I'll stick by that. If your hopes are in what a 5th year rookie/ Divison 2 player. Your screwed. Demarcus Ware is an absolute beast and the whole defense is pretty solid. But I'm sorry in a divison with Eli Manning, and Donovan McNabb and your throwing out Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo than your done. Just like the Redskins with Mark Brunell
Hey Caboose, good to see another Eagles fan on the board. I would exactly call the Cowboys' season over though. They're 3-3 only trailing a 4-3 Eagles team and a 5-2 Giants team. There is still time for them to make ground.
yeah that's true. There is plenty of time. I just don't think they are good enough to do it. The entire summer I was arguing with people about this! A couple "experts" in magazine predicted them to go the Bowl. Some even had them winning it! They have some nice weapons on that team but unless you have a defense like the Ravens or did back when they won or the Steelers (Big Ben is overrated), you've got to have a good QB to win ball games. Look at my Birds. They killed me the last 2 games, but the entire off season people were saying that they didn't have a shot because they didn't have enough weapons. Westbrook's been battling injuries and Stallworth's been out; despite this they still have the number 1 offense in the league. So what their receivers aren't that great. McNabb is a playmaker. He's deadly. If you add a healthy Westbrook and Stallworth, the Eagles offense is gonna be just nasty. Anyways back on point. DALLAS SUCKS DALLAS SUCKS! I love bashing the Cowboys!
No lol. What did they do? Did they put up "Eagles Win" or something right before the FG? I can't blame them if they did. I thought it was over. It took me about 5 minutes to get pissed off. I was not sure what I saw.
The best was when they put Romo in the game and all the Cowboy fans were cheering for him. Then BAM! first pass was an INT and the crowd was silenced. Parcells is definitely done - no way he's gonna put up with another season of T.O. and now this. Why was Romo threading the needle and throwing into double and triple coverage all night? Who does he think he is Brett Favre? Witten seemed to be his favorite target all night. I wonder what sports radio in Dallas is like right now? What will be the headlines in the morning?
That was classic. They were chanting for him all game then that happened on the 1st play. Classic. I bet he was really nervous. Either that or he was just too excited and wanting to make something out've nothing.
I'd have to agree that the boys are overrated. Yes, they have some nice wrs and a great TE in Witten. But the oline sucks, and neither Bledsoe or Julius are good enough to overcome that imo. Their d is good, but not dominant, so you can't use it as a crutch. I did like what I saw out of Romo. I thought it was a pretty good outing for a first game. The team was definitely rallying around him. Have to wait and see if he can learn from his mistakes.
Wait....I thought this was a Automatic Super Bowl Bound team? ....atleast it was according to a few of my buds....PFT. The game today was entertaining..... Romo and Drew "badthrow" couldn't keep the balls in their teamates hands.... And TO, well he was jawing off as usual. As for the highlight of the game? When the fans were chanting ROMO when he was put in, only to see him toss an INT.
So if Romo is the better choice out of the two...How is the season over now? It should have been over the first game of the season when Bledsoe was the starter. I liked what I saw from Romo tonight. The Giants were playing to defend the pass because that was the only way the Cowboys were going to get back into the game. He looked good at times even though the Giants D was ready for pass after pass. Romo decided to take the game in his hands and threw 3 INT's but also put up 2 TD's and over 200 yards in the air. Not too shabby for his actual first game to get to play in. His INT's were just rookie mistakes. I'm hoping we see him the whole game against Carolina. He definately looks better than Bledsoe laying down to the opposing D or making rookie mistakes when he is a 13 or 14 year vet.
just got back from the game. it was about 80%/20% cowboy/giants fan ratio. the loudest it got all night was when romo went in to start the 3rd... i'm not sure how much crowd noise you guys got, but when we chanted de-fense, the giants fans around us were yelling ti-ki. ignoring the 3 interceptions by romo, his passes looked pretty good, and he moved the ball far better than bledsoe did. i don't think he's done for the season though, and he'll probably start on sunday against carolina. and i think both T.O. and parcells finish the season, but i think the tuna and bledsoe are both gone after this season. my prediction the rest of the way: 5-5 to finish 8-8 and in 3rd place in the division.
i think dallas starts romo next week and goes on a nice run and will end up in the playoffs and end up losing to the bears.
I think the best the Cowboys will do is 9-7, but more likely 7-9 or 8-8. Parcells will be gone by season's end...I don't see Jerry Jones putting up with mediocrity for a fourth straight year. And the Cowboys aren't as far ahead of the Texans as they think. They have a somewhat better o-line and good safeties, and a better TE...that's about it. If D.Davis ever gets healthy he's about equal to J.Jones. And Carr is better than any Dallas QB right now, IMO.
