I'm so friggin excited about this game! Basically, this game puts you in the perspective of an NFL head coach. You get to build your roster, train your players, prepare gameplans, hire/fire other coaches, coordinate practices, motivate/de-motivate players and make gametime decisions. You won't have control of the players, and you basically let computer play the game for you.

This is precisely the kind of game I've been waiting for! I can't wait to take over the Texans and re-build them the right way.

I know RC has talked about this game in his posts, but I think this merits it's own thread.

    Yeah, I kind of agree.

BTW, I didn't realize until recently that the EA curse works with NFL Head Coach too.

I believe it is available for PC, PS2 and XBox. I don't think it's available for the cube.

The franchise mode in madden is enough micro-management for me, thanks.

They should do something like this for the NBA.

That would be a good idea, although I'm not sure how it would work with the current NBA licensing. IIRC, Visual Concepts and EA are both allowed to make simulation-style NBA games every year, while EA and Midway (I think...whoever makes the NBA Ballers games) alternate years for street-style games. I'm not sure if the current agreement would allow for EA to make a NBA Head Coach game every year too, or if there would be some sort of complications (NBA Live or NBA Head Coach every year). With the NFL (and AFL for that matter), they can make as many games as they want since they are the only ones allowed to make those types of games.

Unless you want to play a game with Jeff Van Gumby.

I was pretty excited about this game but after playing the demo the past couple of days I probably wont buy it. Maybe Im just not in the right mood for it at the moment. They should have released this right after the superbowl. Its NCAA 07 season.

Can you give us a quick review of the game? My computer won't run the demo, so I'd be chancing it with the purchase. I'd like to know what you guys like and dislike about the game.

So do you get to play the games as well? Or are they just simulated?

I believe the game will be in live action, but you have no control of the player, so it is beyond a simple simulation.

There have been PC versions of games like these for years. Perhaps you've heard of Front Office Football? That game was awesome. I especially loved the college football one.

YES!!! Front Office is absolutely one of my all time favs. I'm still playing it today (thank goodness they have updated rosters year after year).

I think this game will be different considering you have control on drawing out plays, seeing things unfold live in front of you, you get to motivate players between plays and do a whole bunch of things that you can't do on FOF. I don't know, the game sounds really intriguing to me.

This game sounds better than Madden to me. I usually end up playing 'coach mode' on Madden anyway. It's too tempting to find one play that's an automatic TD and use it over and over again when you play in player mode.

I like real simulation better than I like scoring a TD on every drive. I'll have to check this game out.

BTW, NCAA Football is the best game in the history of the world. I can't wait until it comes out.
