Both teams are shooting themselves in the foot during OT. missed FG Panthers missed FG Wilkins Rams driving and Bulger throws ANOTHER interception!
holy ****, the rams had this game. Down to the Carolina 35 with a first down and Marc Bulger throws an Interception!!!! Unbelievable game!!!!!
as a die-hard panther-fan i have two words for this game: quadruple bypass.... this game was amazing to watch.... one of the best games i´ve ever seen
no doubt....I havent watched any games this year except for the Texans games.. but when it comes time for the playoffs...Im there. what a great game...I enjoyed the hell outta it. but what the hell was the Rams coach thinking at the end of regulation?? burned up the entire rest of the clock playing for the tie?? the way they had been going down the field that last quarter...and he gives up at the end? I would jhave gone for the TD and kicked the FG as a last resort...
Mike Martz should be fired for the way he used the clock at the end of regulation. I can't believe John Fox pulled Kasay from the field after the Panthers got that delay of game penalty. For what? All the did was run two running plays up the middle for no additional gain. The kicker was already on the field ready to kick...there was no excuse for that. Delhomme did play well under pressure.
i stared watching with about 6 minutes left in the 3rd. from that time until there were 5 minutes left, i did not see st. louis run the ball one time. not one. even only down 1 and 4. yet when there were 5 minutes left and STL still needs two scores to tie, what does martz do? start running the ball at the 5 yard line. now maybe you run once to catch them off guard. but if it doesn't work, you get to the line and hurry the hell up. STL? just chills for about 30 seconds, then tries a qb sneak. then chills for another 30. then after pass interference? another run, another 30 seconds and a burned timeout. where the hell was the urgency? they got lucky as hell to get that onside but if that doesn't happen, there sitting there with 1 timeout and 2:40 to play instead of about 4 minutes and two timeouts? how do you not run the hurry up in that situation? maybe when i'm a coach i'll just explain all my idiocy away with "well i figured we'd recover a couple of onside kicks later." and then of course after bulger throws a few dangerous passes beautifully to get them down the field, martz runs clock and sits on the ball to kick the fg? what a loser. then in OT they get to the 38 and martz again starts running (apparently marshall faulk should only run when looking to waste time needlessly or to set up field goals) and starts setting up a 53 yd FG like it was a 30 yarder. they gain nothing and, voila, wilkins is short. whoulda thunk it. then of course bulger gets a brain cramp and throws the game away. then ol's f4p goes to make a sandwich after the first OT and somehow the longest play to ever in a postseason game happens in the 4 minutes he's gone? how did they manage to squeeze a commercial, a kickoff, and a play into that time? i figured i'd be back in plenty of time. pissed that STL lost (i'm going on 5 years as a bandwagon fan of the greatest show on turf) but kinda glad they lost b/c i couldn't stand martz wussing out like that.
