http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3106749 Maybe I'm wrong, but I would think this ends his rookie campaign. Obviously that would be unfortunate, as he was looking to chase the rookie RB record for yards. They are only saying he's out for Sunday, but I don't see how he comes back in less than half of the season unless this is only a partial tear. Even then, why would the Vikings risk their stud and future when they're dead last in their division? Evan
It's sad, but this guy is clearly injury prone. Could have been the best ever, imo, but seriously, he is always injured.
injuries will be the only thing to hold him back. that's really too bad, he's an exciting player.* *even though he's a sooner.
He should definitely take the rest of the year off. If there is one body part you don't mess around with, it's the knee. He might still win Offensive Rookie of the Year even with only half a season...
He never seemed to get hurt the same way twice. When the fluke injuries keep piling up, you have to wonder if it's the player. Some guys are just less durable than others. Evan
When you say "injury prone, I think constant hamstring tweaks, sitting out for an injured pinky toe, or other random crap like that. He's had a severely sprained ankle, a broken collarbone, and now this. These aren't reoccurring things.
he's constantly injured. does it matter if it is fluke or not, or in an area someone worried about? If Yao keeps injuring himself in random ways, he'll still be injury prone...it may be bad luck, but it is what it is. again, to me, injury prone clearly means prone to injuries. Which he's been and proving to be. i understand this subtle difference here, and certainly hope this is his last injury, cause he's awesome to watch, but let's face facts, he's always injured.
If it were a reoccurring ankle injury, we'd say he's got a crap ankle. If it were constant knee issues, we'd say he's got a bum knee. He keeps missing significant time for different things.....prone to injury. Evan
He's on my fantasy team too. I think he needs to learn to avoid contact, even if it means getting a few less yards. He runs all out all the time, and at the RB positon that is going to mean injuries.
I have Adrian Peterson, Larry Johnson, Travis Henry as my 3 prime time running backs! Good times this week Question for you Fantasy gurus....Of the 3, which one should I drop??? ...because I really need to put some decent RB points on the board this week instead of zero. *FYI->Playoffs for our league start week 14 and since week 11 is coming up I can't afford to wait for these guys possibly to get healthy next month, and I am in the middle of the pack for making the playoffs also).
Maybe now people won't look at me as a complete moron for dealing Peterson in 1 league? I didn't deal him at his peak in hindsight, so that was bad...but I dealt him thinking "he's a rookie, he's going to either hit a wall or get hurt if he's carrying such a large load".. and in Minnesota with Jackson, you knew he was gonna eventually be running it a lot. Got back Maroney and Gates.. in hindsight, I still think it was solid (esp. now that Maroney seems to be back AND Morris is out for the year)
i currently have a 9 game winning streaking in fantasy football. i won with him, i will win with out him.
