They do have some major talent. Just imagine if the ping pong balls go their way and they are able to add Bogut to a lineup of Richardson, Davis, Murphy, and Dunleavy. They are starting to play together now and are just starting to tap their team potential. Chris has been criticized as their GM but he could look like a genius with one winning lottery ball.

Maybe they'll make the playoffs someday in the 5-8 seed. GS has had a talented roster for a while now, but they always underachieve. They are capped out and stuck as a mediocre team.

And Mullin is still a ****ty gm. Worse than Isiah.

I was thinking the same thing watching them tonight. They might have beaten the Rockets if Dunleavy would've been healthy...then again Pietrus might not have been so effective.

I'm not so sure about the acquisition of Baron Davis though. It seems like he is holding them back. Maybe if he gets healthy and in shape it will be a different story. But certainly, if Richardson becomes a consistent leader on offense, and they pick up a big man in the offseason (draft or trade B.Davis), they could be dangerous.

Didn't they say the same thing about the Clippers for last year?

I think it's funny how every year the same sh*tty ass teams stockpile lotto pick after lotto pick and after having yet another sh*tty season, people pee in their pants thinking how incredible they'll be the next year after they add another lotto pick.....and then they suck yet again.

They have some nice, young talent they can build with but a backcourt of JRich & Baron Davis doesn't excite me in the least bit. Both are good, but are horrible compliments to each other, are both really SGs, and Davis can't even stay healthy.

Now, if they can turn Dunleavy into a real good point-forward, then you're talkin', because I think he and Murphy would both excel in a Princeton (King like) offense with the two guards constantly slashing to the basket off of passes.

I think their Euro-players will just end up being decent role-players at best.

I really like Murphy's game and I think we wil become a constant all-star if they can find a good, all around center to play beside him. I can imagine the numbers he would put up next to Yao.

Golden State as a surprise team? Maybe. Too bad Mullin handcuffed the franchise with those deals for Fisher and Foyle. Check out the big contracts that they have on their payroll,

    Davis (Max)
    Richardson (Near Max)
    Murphy (10+ mill a year)
    Foyle (8+ million)
    Fisher (Full MLE)

And soon Dunleavy will be up for Free Agency. With all those guaranteed dollars, I don't see how they they will be able to keep him. One guy that would be worth making a run at in a few years is Pietrus. His defense and athleticism is incredible. At worst I see him as being a more athletic Bruce Bowen. If he can improve his jumpshot then lookout.

And if the Warriors discover that they can't afford all those guys and need to dump a guy like Murphy, I wouldn't mind sending them a 1st rounder and some expiring contracts for Murphy and Pietrus. ;)

I could see them doing more of a deal with their #1 and Foyle to some team for a young big such as maybe Eddy Curry.

Foyle?!?! If I'm the Bulls, I let Curry walk before taking Foyle's contract back. Even for a possible top 3 overall pick.

If Golden state could contend for a playoff spot next year, They WILL BE A SUPRISE TEAM. At the start of the year I dont think anyone would think GS as capable of getting to the playoffs for a loooong time.

However the Davis trade is big boost. IMO if he can regain his health and maintain it thru next season, GS will make some noise.

While thier contracts situation is not ideal... I dont think the contracts for Davis, Richardson and murphy are a bad thing, since they are all very talented young players who have produced. The contracts of foyle and fisher on the other hand... bleh!
I mean not only are both players overpaid! The contracts are LONG TERM!! ughhhh! But while annoying they arent cripple to the franchise, just a hindrance. What would cripple them is the health of Davis and if he continues to be injury ridden the next few seasons.

You might be onto something there.

I like Murphy's game, but he is way overpaid. And I think Pietrus is a stud defensively and very athletic. So that might be an interesting package you just suggested considering their heavy payroll.

The rockets should try to trade some of there expiring contracts for murphy. We can try to convince GS that murphy in overpaid. He can rebound and shoot just what the rockets need.

It's all on Baron Davis. When healthy, he's one of the top 3 to 5 PGs in the league, MVP canidate for a little while a couple of seasons ago, but he's never been healthy for 82 games, that's their biggest worry. There's no telling how good that backcourt can be maybe even a 45 point, 12 assist, 12 rebound, 4 steal type production from those two, THAT'S IMPRESSIVE! How many wins that would translate to in the West depends on how good their front court plays, mainly on defense and rebounding, with some scoring from Murphy and some playmaking from Junior.

The Warriors are just going to become the New York Knicks of the Western Conference. A mediocre team with an outside shot of making the playoffs, with a bunch of overpaid, overrated players.

I guess that's better than where they're at now.

They seem to say that about a lot of bad teams when the teams load up on decent players but something always happens. GS will not make the playoffs next year Gaurenteed.

Baron Davis is not a decent player, we're talking about a guy that outplayed our guy in the playoffs, a guy that almost beat Dwayne Wade while playing at 50% health in last year's playoffs, a guy that was considered an MVP canidate a couple of season's ago.

The Clippers have a lot of good players but need a Baron Davis type player to push them over the top, Elton Brand is not that type.

Yeah...that's the big IF...IF B. Davis can stay healthy. Why the Warriors have been below average team the last couple of seasons has to do with their PG. For the first time since they had T. Hardaway, they have a legitimate scoring point guard...this is gonna make everyone that much better. J. Rich should've been an all-star this year instead of Ginobli. Troy Murphy is a real solid player, and we've all seen first hand what Cabarkapa can do offensively and what Pietrus can do defensively. Dunleavy is the player that really needs to improve his game most notably with his outside jumper and with his defense....am I reading this right? ESPN has the line on the PHX and GSW game as -EV (that's EVEN right?)

Gilbert Arenas- Jason Richardson- Antawn Jamison-Troy Murphy-Erick Dampier.

    But..no..
