What comes to pass in the next 2 weeks could be huge for the Rocks. Several different senarios could determine the direction of this team for the next 5 years.

A - Mobley resignes, choosing the direction of the organization as a team trying to win. Croshure is netted w/ the exception. The future is in place, Steve is happy.

B - Mobley resigns, Langhli and Collier impress enough to make squad. Steve is the leader and happy.

C- Mobley leaves via FA. Rocks get FA w/ exemption, Lewis is a knockout (Mobley who?), Croshure will sufice. Mobley rubs us raw, but Rocks show willigness to improve w/ FA. Steve is happy.

D - Mobley gone, no FA , sudenly Langhi and Collier don't look so hot. Steve is the star but has to wonder what happened to this summer. What are the Rockets doing to improve this team? Steve is happy?

F - Collier and Langhi are bench warmers, Alexander shows why he scored at will in college. Can cato shoulder more offensive production? Hard to imagine the rocks being any better next year w/ the loss of mobley.

How much worse can it get?

Steve has a decision to make next summer (2001). We can sign him to long term or he could decide that he wants to test the market (2002). The broad range of expectations could make the Rocks contenders in 2002 or lottery again.

I think Steve Fanchise is a special player that is a great building block. To lose him b/c of the events over the next two weeks would be a shame.

Lets hope for the best and see what happens. The next two weeks are huge for (the) Franchise. Go Rocks

One problem with your evaluation. We have control of steve for 2 more years with the option the match any offer the third year. Money will not ever be an issue with Francis.

Now if he wants to go, fine but it will not be because of money. [IMG]

In summer 2002, I don't see any reason why he would take less than the max from us or anyone. But if Steve doesn't like the way this team is headed, how do they say it, Adios.

The future of the franchise is going to be decided in November at the ballot box, not by any player transactions in the next two weeks.

grummet- The rockets moving would still be the rockets. Players are still under contract when teams move. What did the Oilers do after they left houston, did they lose all the players? The team that went to the superbowl was the same team we built in Houston, McNair, George, etc. If we had built the stadium, Houston oilers in the Bowl last year instead of us still waiting for a team at twice the cost.

If anything, a great signing this summer could help the ballot. If we made out like gangbusters more people mght vote.

The possibility of the Rockets moving are going to hurt their chances at getting free agents. Rashard and Austin are not going to sign with the Rockets if they know there is a chance that they might be playing in Louville instead of Houston.

Dennis-No, it's 2 more years, with a team option on the next year (4th year) and restricted free agency in the 5th year. If money. If the Rockets saddle up the money (which of course they'll pay the max to a franchise player) Francis will be a Rocket AT LEAST 5 years. That means we have plenty of time to make him content.

So he loses Mobley, so what? He'd be just as happy with Terrence Morris, if not more happy, and Morris actually would be more of an asset on this team, because of his defense.

The more lefties on your team, the better.
Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong?
    Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
