now that we got/are getting mooch, what are the next couple of moves the rox will make, if any?

i think our guard position is set (cat, wink, mooch, torres)
our foward position is good, but crowded (rice, kt, griff, walt, langhi, t-mo)
and lets just pray for our centers (cato, collier):( :(

i think the next couple moves will be:

    1. with the medical exception--maybe not the whole $3.25M, but even $1M at this point could get us something--sign a bigman(mason, Polynice, Mccoy, Dudley, Ekezie, Gatling, even pig)

we will need all $3.25M to get mason. scratch him off the list if we get any less.
Polynice is a ong shot. he is not the kind of player or person that rudy & cd like.
Mccoy seems to be the odds on favorite since there was some talk of us contacting his agent after the loss of dream.
Ekezie is someone worth taking a look at. i havn't heard his name at all, but he is a muscle man.

    2. add another bigman using walt as bait. this may be further on in the year when teams start thinking of next years cap space, and realize that walt has $5M worth of an ending contract.
    (White, Jackson, and Gatling)

with Jordan back White is the long shot here. i think MJ will want a center on his team now that he is playing for them.
Gatling is the favorite here with the Cavs needing another shooter. the only 2 they have are Langdon and Person

    our2001-02 final roster:

    cato- mccoy-collier
    kt-griff-gat
    rice-langhi-tmo
    cat-torres
    wink-mooch

'course thats just my opinion i could be wrong. i wanna know what you think america...

I think the Rockets will most likely surprise the hell outta us with there next move. Who saw Clyde coming? Barkley? Pippen? Rice?

I'm not saying it will happen, but if it does, I think it will be a surprise.

If we could get Gatling and McCoy,I would be happy.Mason is not likely likely to come here,Polynice probably will resign with the Jazz.Ekezie,Pig Miller,Chucky Brown are last resort players.
Marc Jackson is probably going to be difficult to get,Golden State can give him more money than us.

I say if the Rockets get a power forward instead of a center for their next move it should be one better than Thomas or Griffin or at least someone who can play some 5 or whats the point?

I think this is being discussed in another thread, but I think a deal with Golden State or the Wizards is imminent.

    Golden State:

Fortson, Dampier, Foyle, Marc Jackson, Troy Murphy. That's too many players for two positions. Dampier, Murphy, and Fortson aren't going anywhere. No one will touch Foyle's contract. They have something like 17 guaranteed contracts right? I don't know if I'd want to ink Marc Jackson to a multi-year deal in this situation. Walt and a first round pick should do it, right?

This would be perfect because he can pickup where Mo left off, and also provide quality minutes at C. Next year, we probably won't re-sign KT (providing this happens), Walt will be gone, Torres will be gone, and Rice will be considerably old. Griffin will start playing more and more SF minutes, Terrence Morris will start playing SG minutes, and Jackson will take over the C spot.

Something like this: (In order of minutes, not starters)

    Cato/Collier/Jackson(starter)
    Jackson/Taylor(starter)/Griffin
    Rice(starter)/Griffin/Langhi/Morris
    Mobley(starter)/Morris/FA or draft pick
    Francis(starter)/Moochie/IR player

Remember, this is not the upcoming season, but the next.

    Wizards:

They re-signed Laettner and Popeye Jones. They got Brendan Haywood, and Etan Thomas. Loy Vaight's there too. They also want Kwame Brown to get his minutes. Jahidi White or cap space? I think they'd rather have the cap space next year. They're pretty much set in the frontcourt, plus, with Jordan, Courtney Alexander, and Rip Hamilton, it looks like they're gonna go to a 3-guard line-up a lot.

In a year, Jahidi can be the first backup player for C and PF, which is around 28 or so minutes a night. If he whoops himself into shape (no, the Rocket's management wont magically make this happen), I repeat, whoops HIMSELF into shape, he'll probably be the starting C.

The Rockets would be absolutely nuts to pass on any of these deals.

Oeilpere, Doc Rocket, Clutch, any word on whether CD's still looking at frontcourt help? And if so, what type of frontcourt help? (i.e. - filler or more significant player) Any word on the status of the medical exception?
