I am pretty sure the following makes clear that Palin has no future in national politics. Also made me relieved McCain isn't elected... whatever you think of the guy, it is worrying how much he was kept in the dark by staffers on some important matters.

I'm not too surprised, after hearing about her per diem for living at her own house, sending husband around the country on "data gathering", and the amount of money spent on trips for her children.

That is what they get for not vetting her.

I love this special issue, the How He Did It issue after the election, so much interesting stuff you don't get to hear about til after the fact.

I think it is pretty obvious the McCain people plan to bury Palin. They used her and now their sexist nature will come out.

I find the behind-the-scenes stuff for both campaigns really interesting.

I laughed at the part where Obama talks about his trouble with answering questions he considers stupid - you know all candidates for any office feel that way.

I hope this election will be the last we see of Palin - she doesn't come across like anyone I'd want in a national public office.

It is sort of like the looting of the treasury with so called "privitization" or kickback no-bid contracts to companies that donate to your campaign.

Hopefully we will have some hearings on the whole private contractor and KBR mess in Iraq.

I do like the revelation that McCain seemed opposed to a lot of the negative campaigning that went on.

I find this, especially the suspected motive by foreign government(s), fascinating, trying to figure out the candidates' actual policy positions by looking at their proposals' Word revision histories, before polishing for public consumption.

And just like with H. Clinton in the primaries, the McCain team went most negative, ramping up socialism/terrorist pal/PLO operative, after they knew it was a lost cause. That's what makes it so shameful.

    Notice the cause and effect:
They know they're going to lose, yet tried to destroy him anyway, putting his life (further) at risk. This should not be so easily forgiven because McCain attempted to silence the boos during his final concession (in which he did not repudiate these charges).

This is sham and no one of you seem to care. How come they report this stuff only after the election? It's not like they collected this overnight. Sometime I do wonder about so-called journalist business.

I think you may well be right that they're trying to make Palin the bad guy. But, I don't see what's sexist about it. I don't think they're doing it because she's a woman, just that she's a good target (and maybe deserves it).

Most of this information was probably given with an acknowledgment that it would not be released until after the election. Probably had the same agreement with both Obama and McCain.

Is it a sham? /shrug They aren't getting the information without that agreement in place.

    From the article:
The reporters are given access, often complete access, as long as they promise not to reveal anything they learn until after the election ends. It's a moral compromise, sure, but in the interests of writing a correct history it's a necessary evil. If they did not honor the pact with the campaigns, they would not have this accesss.

With a little planning, you're totally in:

Since the McCain team is done with her, before they completely spit her out, start volunteering for her senate run up in Alaska. Get on the inside, work your way up, and you'll be gold to be a paid staffer on her 2012 run.

And then, you'll be there to console her, towel or not, when she's summarily crushed in the primaries or by Obama in her bid for the presidency.

So, how do they decide? " let this detached guy know we saw Palin half naked, but not that other reporter"? It doesn't change the fact the the information we consume are so selective by whoever want to release it. I don't call it journalism.
