Did you just see his blantant elbow to Kobe's chops? I know you Kobe haters will be happy, but you Kobe haters should also realize that Kobe didn't retaliate. If I was Kobe I would have decked Bonzi's ass to the ground. Bonzi just got a technical after a dunk for taunting. What a classless piece of trash.
was it really that blatant, even the announcers didn't say it was blatant after seeing the replay. second, what a bunch of bull**** that taunting tech was. that was basically a "wow what an awesome play that pumped up the crowd but it's against the lakers so i'll get rid of that momentum and get the lakers a free point all at the same time" technical. and then kobe knocks wells to the ground and the foul is on wells?? if they had called a tech for him knocking the ball from kobe there should have been some kind of punishment for the refs. luckily they didn't.
Team turmoil is at it again. Quitten discus-threw the ball into the stands after his teammate, Michell Butler???, was called for a foul. Quitten got 2 T's, while Wallace got 1 more. Then the classy fans hurled Bill Walton dolls onto the court...
Newsflash: this entire game is bull****. I agree with Scottie here. How are you supposed to play against these guys? You know, the defender has to give the offensive player a chance to move. That's happened twice this quarter, and both times were called charges against Portland. The play before Scottie lost it, the Blazers stripped it clean from Shaq... of course, he's apparently such a gifted ballhandler that he could never lose it on his own, and must have been fouled. And of course, in the first quarter, Bonzi celebrated less than 90% of the players out there (after dunks)... no hesitation on the technical. What can you do? BTW, anyone have a clue why the Blazers are wearing their headbands around their necks?
I'm not a fan of the Blazers by any stretch of the imagination but the officiating in this game is HORRIBLE! The Blazers are getting screwed royally, and I try to never complain about officiating. A BS charge called on Pippen while Fisher is still moving, ticky-tack fouls called on Portland, a clean steal by Miller on Shaq called a foul, Davis getting mauled by Shaq no called, it's just pathetic. A taunting technical!? Give me a break! Coming out of a break I saw Kobe following Pippen and blatantly jawing at him, where were the officials there? Pippen shouldn't have thrown the ball into the crowd no matter how upset he is, he should know better then that, but then why did the official call him on a technical like that and then FOLLOW Pippen just so he could call a 2nd technical on him? BADLY officiated game. The Lakers don't need that, they're already a pretty good freaking team, but the officiating is pathetic.
I've really grown to respect the Lakers this year, but this is ridiculous. The Lakers do not need help from the refs. Let the players decide this contest. Of course, the NBC commentators are quick to side with the Lakers and the refs, and criticize the Blazers to no end.
LOL! I seem to remember Rockets fans laughing talking about how we dropped a nuclera bomb in the Blazers lockerroom, well what do you know! hehe The officiating still sucks though.
I will say the refs have been pretty bad. However, by Por getting 3 techs on one play, that is adding fuel to the fire. If you are already handicapped by the refs, the last thing you should do is handicap YOURSELF by foolishly getting T's, and then losing Pippen, who actually was playing very well. The Blazers deserve to lose, if they can't suck it up and try to win without the refs.
Cat, you agree with Pippen losing his cool and throwing a ball into the stands on a foul that wasnt even called on him?
Of course he does. He also thinks that the fans in New Orleans were right in throwing crap onto the field in the Rams-Saints game last year...
He was still upset about what happened the possession before. He's supposed to be the team leader, and leaders have to make a stand sometimes for their teammates. This is a ridiculously officiated game, and Scottie's probably not the only player that would've lost his cool. Well, considering the BS in that "game", I can see why some fans feel like they had their money stolen away. Collectively among the Saints fans, that's thousands of dollars. If the officials can't even get games right with instant replay, fans are going to retaliate. If the officials can't improve, I doubt that's the last time something like that happens.
"He was still upset about what happened the possession before. He's supposed to be the team leader, and leaders have to make a stand sometimes for their teammates. " You're right, he is the team leader, but losing his temper is not something a leader should do , especially with guys like rasheed wallace and bonzi wells on the team. A leader would've just sucked it up and played his ass off .
A leader needs to stand up for his teammates, and sometimes take a technical. I've seen much worse things allowed without ejections, but of course as a leader he should remember he's playing LA, where officiating standards don't apply. BTW, despite all of this, what an incredible game.
Well that "team leader" may have cost his team a win, which is all that matters. If Por had 1 less technical, out of like 5 of them, Por wins in regulation. Being a "team leader" and standing up for your team is fine, if it is not at the cost of victory.
The worst call in the history of professional sports. If any of you still don't think the Lakers get a ridiculous amount of calls, I have nothing left to say.
Maybe this would be a little more reasonable coming from some who didnt hate the lakers with a passion like you.
