Tmac should get Microfracture if he needs it and come back late next year to get a small MLE style of deal.

Ouch, you know you're done when even the Knicks don't want you.

Anyone find it strange that Les is saying they want to keep McGrady, yet Morey is obviously shopping him. Not on the same page or trying to save fave?

Morey probably told him no one is buying so Les is doing some PR moves. IE

"you don't want to buy? FINE WE AIN'T SELLING!"

i dont think les said he didn't WANT to trade tmac, he just said they weren't. So he just realized he can't get any takers, so he had to come out and make it seem like Houston decided to keep him and they're behind him.

If only Isiah Thomas were still running things, he would have taken T-Mac in a heartbeat.

The Knicks are a fast paced team. It shouldn't shock anyone that they are not interested in T-mac.

CBS sports/ Ken Berger reported weeks ago, while at the Utah NBDL showcase, that Knicks excecutives had told him they had interest in a McGrady-Marbury deal at the trade deadline. Such a deal wasn't forthcoming then but it was a situation the Knicks were hoping would arise.

The report could also be the Knicks leaking false info trying to generate interest or give themselves leverage in trade talks. Dolan owns Newsday so I'd take the article with a grain of salt.

I had not heard that! Man that sucks...

As for the thread, I remember some of us talking about a fantasy scenario at the start of this past summer about Marbury and the Knicks 2008 first round pick if it was #3 or #5 for McGrady and some posters couldn't get past that we were proposing "McGrady for Marbury".

Man has McGrady fallen. Would you rather have McGrady right now, or $22 million in cash and OJ Mayo or Jerryd Bayless?

Don't know if I put too much stock in Newsday, but pretty sad when the Knicks aren't interested in taking on McGrady when they're shipping out Marbury and probably scraps on top of that. As for David Lee, he's a commodity now but he's also a restricted free agent who's looking for a hefty raise.

So Les' quote from earlier tonight was damage control for this?

Quite possible too. Or at least give the impression that they've been active to satisfy fans.

How about trade him for Marbury, both trash, but Marbury's expiring contract makes he better than Mcgrady IMO,and we all know Knicks wants to get LBJ in 2010 summer,Mcgrady's contract won't be an obstacle then.
