duhon is a scrub... whats with all the chicago pg love? have yall ever seen these guys play? the only pg i'll take on teh bulls is derrick rose
Duhon was one of many candidates for the "Marko Jaric Award" for scrubs that this BBS had some strange obsession with acquiring. The guy is horrible.
I would love Duhon as a backup point guard on our team. He's only 25, he plays very good defense, and he had a 4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio last year. In only ONE game last year...ONE game did he have more turnovers than assists and that was a 2 TO, 1 AST game vs. the Spurs. His FG% isn't terrible for someone who takes half of their attempts from 3 and shoots 36% or higher from that distance. That's what PGs on this team need to do anyway is spot up for kick out 3's. So yeah, as a backup for 2 to 3 million I think he's a solid (and realistic) option. But I have no idea what the Knicks are smoking if they want him starting.
You are smoking too. I've watched him play his entire career and he is truly terrible. Among other things, the guy had a multi-game slump where he hit something like 1/33 FGs. Paying him any more than the vet minimum is a mistake. Duhon is like a slightly more athletic Rafer but who's shooting makes Rafer look like Steve Nash.
Strictly as a PG, Duhon's not shabby. I'd rather have him running an offense than the seemingly hundreds of combo guards ruining the league. Crawford and Little Man Syndrome Nate can't facilitate an offense to save their life. Duhon is capable, and he's good at protecting the ball. Duhon does suck as a scorer. He's streaky from the outside and has trouble getting his shot off inside with his combination of lack of size and tiny hops. D'Antoni needs a 1 that has bball IQ and can distribute. Duhon's one of the few on the market that works in those areas. Evan
Duhon is not much of a scorer, but he can run a team pretty well and is a very good one-on-one defender. In fact the Bulls played better in the last few years when Duhon was the PG and Hinrich played off the ball. He is definitely not a scrub.
how far their hopes have fallen. first they wanted davis, then ford, then hinrich. now it's down to tinsley or duhon? they should've drafted bayless and been done with it.
as much as my mind and my eyes tell me that duhon is garbage. He may turn out to be next seasons beno urduh. Mike D turned a very border line allstar in steve nash into a freaking mvp. I have this weird feeling that he will turn duhon into a player that is better then Beno and right below Calderon.
Sorry, but there's no chance you'll ever convince me that a near 4 to 1 assist to turnover ratio is ever coming from a truly terrible PG. Again, not a chance in hell I'd want him starting or getting big minutes, but he can take care of the ball, defend, and knock down some 3's when needed. That's most definitely not terrible, in my opinion.
I see the Knicks winning 35 games this season. They've turned a corner just in letting Isiah loose. When did they last have a trueish PG? Duhon is a good thing for NY fans and I'd be thrilled to get him for that kind of money. Hell, they could even use Rafer Alston. He aint that bad. I'd rather have him than Stephon for winning purposes. Jamaal Crawford? Nate Robinson? Are you kidding me? Of course they have no rhythm on either side of the ball.
Question: What do you think of Rafer, despite the fact he "takes care of the ball"? Consider that Duhan is an inferior version of Rafer who also has a habit of making mistakes at the worst times of the game.
LMAO D'Antoni better get ready for a big taste of reality. His system made the Suns good but those players made his system look great. I don't see any Nash, Amare or Marion clones on that Knicks roster so let's see how long it takes D'Antoni to give up on that cursed franchise.
C-Duh is being offered the full MLE, I think, for 2 years. I'm telling you, D. Anthony has an eye for PGs. C-Duh is going to be the new S.Nash.
It's more like 2 yrs, $7 million, which is reasonable for their situation. So D'Antoni has the right idea. It's all about the summer of 2010 and nothing else matters. Next up, getting rid of Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry.
