Rupert Murdoch is more likely to decide who goes to prison than he is to go to prison himself.

    Yes, and that's sad.

It's amazing that we're all willing to allow a relative handful of wealthy/powerful people to make our world so ****ty.

But, I guess that's the way it's always been.

The problem is not that they are making it *****ty, the problem is that they are the ones responsible for telling people who is in power. So if they received power, would they communicate that to the outside world?

So even if the media is not this massive unethical industry as "conspiracy theorists" believe, the mere fact that current regulations allow media to retain, expand and consolidate power IF if it were ever to get power... is bad enough.

I structured that sentence very poorly. I'm saying that the current legal treatment of media ensures that media can hide power eternally as they get their hands on it. That won't be the case forever, and that will be literally a bloody affair when it's time to fix it some time in the distant future I guess.

Misleading media must be punished, it's far more dangerous than bad or erratic media.

As a side note, there are many terrorist organizations which categorize their war with "Western media" separate from their war with "the West".
