    Put a lid on it

Many envied Paul Silas when he took over as coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The main reason, of course, was 18-year-old phenom Le-Bron James. But Silas also took over a roster filled with other young and talented players.

The age-difference thing seems to be catching up with Silas, 60. He has banned rap music from the pregame locker room. "I can't stand that stuff," Silas said. "Those guys need to

    concentrate on the game."

The Cavs have lost 24 straight on the road. We'll see if new music helps.

    --------------------

I know that tonight, Lebron won't be listening to music before he drops 20 on us. I just hope we clamp down on his offense.

    GO ROCKETS!!!!

I don't blame him. I use to like rap back in the days, but in the last 12 to 13 years I've changed my tune.

I say bring back the following:

    1. EricB and Rakim
    2. EPMD
    3. KoolG Rap and Polo
    4. PE
    5. Kris1

Not that I know them personally, but Eric Williams and Tony Battie seem more like R&B kind of guys. :D

Maybe it worked. The Cavs beat the Sixers on the road and LeBron scored 36.

I actually believe that some of the players would play better if they listened to music during the games via a little earphone. Just my opinion. But I think it frees you mentally and can inspire you. In the same way the crowd does.

That would only work when playing ISO ball. How would you be able to hear playcalls or your teammates calling out a screen?

Are you sick? Rap Music has improved in the last six to eight years. I never used to be a big rap fan, but ever since 50 Cent, I have been listening to rap. Songs like Holidae Inn, Got Some Teeth, Stunt 101, and P.I.M.P. are just play out nasty.

Whoa!! I hope you're being sarcastic. Those songs you just named are strictly "party songs". They have no lyrical credibility like the ol' skool rappers named above. I guess I'm one of the few who feels this way...but I think 50 cent is plain garbage. His first single was okay...but the rest is getting boring. He and G-Unit are just a bunch of punks who insist on creating fueds with other rappers. They're about to start something with Nas, which is a bad choice. Nas could destroy any living rapper's career.

I personally listen to underground hiphop along with a lot of other stuff. And sorry to say DJ you dont know what the fU*k your talking about. 50 cent is pretty much crap. Its kind of catchy, but in the same way the backstreet boys are to i suppose.

And i may, and thats a maybe see where you can say hiphop has improved since its inception. But that is ONLY in regards to the underground stuff.

As far a popular stuff, when Tupac and Biggie bit the dust radio rap went down the crap shoot.

And rock radio is in dire need of repair also.

Sorry but i get pissed off when someone thinks that 50 cent is good. Its really just lack of knowlege of the genre of music though. If you had some of the stuff i had you would never bother to bring out that 50 cent cd out of your case ever again.
