I really liked that show...at least until Phil Hartman died. It was terrible after that.

I didn't discover News Radio until it went into syndication. What an amazingly hilarious show that was. They should show reruns of it every night.

Most underrated sitcom of its era by far.

Newsradio was Arrested Development before Arrested Development was Arrested Development.

I own all 8 seasons (5 of NR, 3 of AD), and that group accounts for about 80% of my DVD watching.

I agree. And I'm a Jon Lovitz fan...but no one could hold a candle to Phil Hartman on that show. NO ONE.

I thought NR was canceled before Phil died, no?

No, they even had an episode where the show begins with everyone coming back from "Bill's" (Phil's character) funeral. I think they said in the show he died of a heart attack or something. Jon Lovitz was introduced to sort of take the place of Phil's character...but his whiny tones and insecurities never got in the same league of the quality of humor that Phil brought to the stage.

Oh man I forgot he was in that show! That was the only time I actually didn't mind him. Outside of that show, I really wish that guy would get bent.

My favorite sitcom ever and I think Scrubs is the only non-animated sitcom that holds a candle to it in my mind. It had one of the best casts ever assembled. Stephen Root, Andy Dick, and Joe Rogan were top notch supporters to the greatness of Hartman and the underrated Dave Foley

Bingo. Unfortunately due to NBC's weekly change of schedule for NewsRadio they killed it. Great cast, clever writing. The show peaked in the 3rd before Hartman passed, but I think the 4th was still pretty strong. The 5th I don't remember having fond memories of, that's why I'm not in a hurry to pick it up. I still watch the rest of this show on DVD every week.

it was a great show and Phil really tied it all together.

It's a big shame because I think they were just getting into primetime and the show was really gaining mainstream popularity when that biatch killed phil.

One of my all time favorite series. There are quite a few youtube clips and I thought I'd post an Andy Dick / power trip centered one.
