planning a vacation got me through a few weeks...but now that it's over and done...i'm looking for a new distraction.

 

I saw you try to engage basso in the ayers thread, it was a valiant attempt. the closer we have gotten to the election, the more people are dug in the trenches. basketball preseason talk is sooooooooo boring imo. I don't care, i really don't start caring till december.

there's only so many ways you can say the texans suck and the economy is just down right depressing. there was actual interesting discussion on the economy until the politics became involved. oh well

Not much going on here lately.

No pissing contests going on in the Feedback forum. Believe it or not, some of the bbs’s most entertaining battles have happened in the Feedback forum, away from most viewers.

Nothing in the Dish, since I don’t really care about any team besides the Rockets.

Too many rookies in the GARM. I always feel like an old fart going in there.

Not much good Texan talk right now in the Houston forum. Everyone agrees that Sunday’s game was an ABORTION, so not much to argue about there. And the sometimes entertaining Mario/Reggie/Vince arguments have completely lost their cache. Maybe a good Ric vs. MadMax battle would liven things up a bit?

The Hangout is missing something. I don’t know what it is, but something just isn’t right. Too many video game threads, perhaps? Too many people wanting serious answers to random questions? And a 15 page thread on investing??? We talkin’ ‘bout INVESTING??? In the HANGOUT??? We need another epic “ride ride” type of thread. It’s been too long. The Hathaway thread was as close as we’ve been in a while, but that one was spoiled by Hmm.

The D&D is a cesspool as usual, but it has actually gotten more dull leading up to the election. I would have thought it would be the exact opposite of that, but it’s been pretty disappointing the last few months.

I guess there’s always the Unsorted forum.

 

You can always re-read classic threads.

You should start a tourney about something. We haven't had one since FFB's worst song tourney.

Yeah, it's a slippery slope. (is that the right cliche?) Those threads just sort of happen, you really can't force them. What’s more is that they are usually inadvertently started by a relatively lesser known poster, which makes it even more like catching lightning in a bottle.

All we can do is sit around and wait, I suppose.

 

We need another poster to come out of the closet outlaw style or something.
