I just heard Andre Barrett was waived. I guess they have to make room for Juwan on the injured list.

Thank you Andre for your service to the team. We wish you the best of luck.

Link? Does that mean Rockets is definitle going to pick up someone very soon? Otherwise they can just activate Norris. Is James Thomas coming?

No link. You'll just have to take my word for it for now. I'd guess Rockets.com would have something on it sooner or later, but who knows with them these days.

I have no idea what else might happen.

Good luck to Barrett. He was a nice spark off the bench for a while, hopefully it was done to make room for a PF, Thomas hopefully.

thats what i was thinking as well. If it was to put Howard on the IL they would have just activated Moochie. Hopefully this means we are adding a PF who can help us on the boards.

    Rockets Waive Andre Barrett

HOUSTON - The Houston Rockets have waived guard Andre Barrett, General Manager Carroll Dawson announced today.

Barrett averaged 2.1 points and 1.6 assists in 27 games with Houston. The 5-11, 173-pound point guard set career highs with 14 points on Dec. 7 vs. New Orleans and six assists on Dec. 11 vs. Dallas.

At the beginning of the season, when Lue and Ward were the PGs, Barrett was the one who impressed me the most at that position. I guess everyone likes to cheer for the little guy and I guess thats why I liked him so much (he was a BIG fan favorite here before Sura got healthy). I am sad to see him go but hopefully the Rockets picked up someone at the PF position that can help them.

Good luck to you Andre...hopefully he can make a team next season.

You might be right about adding a PF. Where the hell is Keon Clark? Is he still in the League?

Too bad, I really liked that kid.

Hopfully he is going to be pick up by a developmental league or get a chance to play oversea. Whoever is been waived by the Rockets is going to have a good chance end up in the Chinese Basketball Association since the Rockets have an agreement with the CBA.

He is not in the league and I dont think he wants to be either. I remember JVG talking about him on 610 earlier in the season and said that CD had called him to see if he was interested in coming to the Rockets and Keon Clark never even returned their calls.

Anyone know why Andre was waived, instead of Charlie Ward ?
I just don't see Ward doing anything for this team, at least Andre contributed some...

If you wave a player, do you still have to pay them?
Barrett probably has the lowest salary out of all the NBA players so it would be cheaper for the Rockets to wave him rather than some other player.

    Me too wondering.

    C Ward is much worse.

    Why? Why AB ?
