Newley, who was drafted by NBA team Houston Rockets last month, was diagnosed with grade two lateral ligament damage after landing awkwardly during a training scrimmage. He is in doubt for the tour of Europe from July 28 to August 13. He could also be forced to join big guns Andrew Bogut, Chris Anstey, C. J. Bruton, Matt Nielsen and Stephen Black on the sidelines during Australia's three-game Olympic qualifying series against New Zealand from August 20-24.

Nasty.... now Newley is injured as well I'm starting to worry about Australia's chances of beating NZ. The kiwi's always play great team ball, and are always tough to beat, and now we're down to David Andersen and Sam Mackinnon as go-to players. oh well, the Wallabies did beat the All Blacks two weeks ago, anything is possible
