Richard Perle, Eliot Abrams, Paul Wolfowitz - they're all Jews! Oh no! Wait, that's Pat Buchanan's argument... An unmentioned key part of rebuilding America's defenses is : arming states around the world with America's weapons. We're #1 in arms exports by dollar amount with surprise! #2 Britain following close behind. Since we happen to be destroying all vacant Iraqi Russian munitions, guess they'll be buying some new stuff straight from us the coalition of the willing. On using the reserve less, I think everyone agrees it's a bit overused now. Ballistic missile defense is hooey. No physicist who is *not* getting paid to work on it thinks it's remotely possible for homeland defense. Worked real well against those cruise missiles from Iraq, friendly aircraft, and those boxcutters... Heck, we need a suicide truck defense that we can forward deploy with all our troops, and migrate to an anti-suicide bomber defense we can sell to the Israelis. My favorite part is the secret Republican plan to pay for this new spending by cutting taxes. We still spend about 1/3 of the world's budget on defense, excluding black programs, and that's still not enough? If they want more soldiers, bring back the draft and make every American serve in the military or nonmilitary. Enough of the working class military fighting wars for the neocons who managed to avoid their war in Vietnam somehow.
