I'm 5'-7", 1" taller than the guy in the story, and would never do something like that. I'm short compared to most American men but I don't think height has held me back. Anyway a 37 year old guy that wants to be called "Apotheosis" has a lot of other issues besides height.
Depends on how long his torso was in the first place. I have a friend I call torso man because his torso looks too long for his legs. This surgery would be perfect for him unless they have some torso lengthening surgery they haven't advertised yet.
Wait a minute, so the Indian guy grew only 2 inches and is raving about it and how the world sees him now?
This has been done to one of my legs. I have a condition that caused problems in one of my legs during growth and I had to have many surgeries for it, starting at age 9. As a consequence, the "bad" leg was 2 1/2 inches shorter than the other one after I had finished growing, even though at age 16 (when I was still growing) growth was surgically stopped in my "healthy" leg (otherwise, I would be about 6'7 or 6'8 instead of 6'6 - that surgery was stupid, though, because it caused some trouble in my "strong" leg that is still there; wish I had had the Internet for research back then, I found out a few years later that this procedure had no longer been supposed to be state of the art in medicine for 50 years already). So, when I was like 21 or 22, they broke my "bad" leg and attached a fixateur externe to it and I had to extend my leg a bit every day. This procedure took over a year and was rather painful, and obviously, I have many scars to show for it (and all the other surgeries). But now my legs are the same length and I am relatively trouble-free (I don't go skiing, but I can play tennis and stuff). The fixateur externe looked similar to this: (this is not my leg, just a picture I found through Google) Warning, graphic picture! Spoiler
