Driving out to Tahoe after the market closes today. Should be some nice powder out there this weekend.
all but one couple cancelled that we were having for a get-together. we'll have a nice dinner/dessert, talk, play scrabble, do the twelve grapes thing , then watch the moody gardens fireworks from the roof.
I heard this was best to do nowadays. 1.) Cops are on the look out for every single drunk driver on the road 2.) The drunk drivers on the road that are being pulled over by the cops AND 3.) People are po and have no money to be spending at clubs, bars, etc. I heard that the police have it to where you can get a blood test done on site so they can charge you with DUI's. Supposedly they have judges on call to write a warrant up and get it then and there. Crazy.
^^ Indeed. This weekend is "warrant" weekend. Police can call a judge and get a warrant to draw your blood on site, forcibly. Scary what the hell is happening to personal freedom... that is just beyond sad
Gig tonight, then driving to Galveston afterwards and spending the rest of the weekend drinking at sister's beach house. Question: If I'm driving from Kemah to Galveston tonight (at about 1am), am I better off taking 146 or I-45? Where will I encounter less drunks/cops?
Definitely 146. La Marque on 45 is the worst spot for cops on 45 in all of Texas any day of the year. You have sheriffs, La Marque PD, and DPS in spades.

Good to know, thanks. I'm not going to be drunk, but I will probably have 3 or 4 beers (over the course of 4 hours) in me. Time to set the cruise control to the speed limit and drive in the right hand lane. A NYE tradition!
I am going to be so bored it isn't even funny. Back home in California and all of my friends have moved away. I don't know anybody who is throwing a party. My parents don't drink, they bought chips and soda. Ugh.
