    What is everyone doing this evening? My plans to go out of town fell through at the last minute but I am now going out with a lady friend and I haven't decided where to go. I was thinking about going to Midtown and getting a hotel downtown but I haven't ever been on NYE. I have had a string of lackluster midnights and don't really want another one. Does anyone have a spot they can recommend?

    I would highly recommend you san antonio. Get a hotel by the alamo. So many attractions and pubs. A short drive too. Make sure you bang with the curtains open. Remember the alamo.

    I would avoid midtown/washington ave/the village. Everything will be packed with annoyingly drunk people, overpriced bottles of champagne/covers, elbow to elbow room. (unless you are into that thing)

    House parties are really the way to go. Cheaper, less drama (usually), and quieter.
