    ugh!

got off of work at 10:45 pm and went straight to a house party. weird mix... sorrity (i know that's spelled wrong) chicks, frat dudes, some old people, lesbians, and a few gay dudes.

anyway, everybody in the friggin house wanted to dance with me... i guess me being gay and black they assumed that i can dance or something, but got damnit... i danced the night away, but i got no action at all! i don't remember much from last night, but i do remember a buttload of people walking out of bedrooms with their clothes and hair all messed up. i was pretty much the only person there that looked in one piece. sad, sad, sad.

anyway... new years parties+no action=waste of time. :(

recovery days suck... and i have to be at work in a couple of hours. double :( :(

Yeah well it can't be as bad as that Forbidden City. I heard a lot of bad things about it but i didn't go so i am not one to say. If anyone went i wanna know how it went.

I heard they basically way over sold the pre sell tickets and even people with tickets were left standing outside in the line for hours and didn't even make it in for the new year. They were only letting VIP tickets in at a certain point.

Not only that the Fire Marshall closed them down around 1 AM which has to suck when that much money went into it.

I know 2 of the groups involved in throwing it and it sucks to have had that happen.

Hopefully they recouped their costs for everything.

    Recouped their costs?

Crap man, I hope they refunded the money of those stuck outside - that's a horrible way to spend New Year's Eve. stuck outside because of other peoples poor planning...

yeah i am sure they are paying back a lot of angry people. The hardest thing for the people though is to try and get the money back becuase there were so many groups of people that actually through the party. So many different companies were taking care of so many parts that it will be hard for people to do it.

We went to Forbidden. Absolutely horrible.

I'm not one to judge, but at 11:00 the wave of asians came swarming in. We literally left at 11:45. It was that bad. We'd rather go to Club Monkey's event and waste another $80 than stay there for midnight's festivities.

An absolutely attrocious place to be. On top of the $55-200 cover charge, they had the audacity to try and charege $6 a drink! (house wells, even!)

Lucky for us, we brought in Mr. Flasky.

Mr. Flasky always comes in handy. Where did Club Monkey do their new years party this year?

I was fortunate enough to have a gig last night at a party at a friend's house in Sugarland. Nice people, made some cash, rang in 05, had a few beers (but not too many) and got home safely.

I cannot friggin' stand, and refuse to spend money on, overhyped overpriced New Years Eve events. If I didn't have a gig, I would go to Little Woodrows or some other icehouse or lounge before dropping $$ on bullshizzneit.

They had their party at the Meridian this year. Even though we didn't arrive until late, it still kicked the crap outta the forbidden thing.

Mental note: If it's called "forbidden", it means it...

    So how was downtown?

We were thinking about going there but didn't. I'm thinking next year we'll find a good club there to party...

I had a gig too. Gotta make that money and don't let it make me! I tell you this. I've never seen so many fake boobs in one room as I did last night. There's just something not right about watching women dance and jump up and down....while their boobs remain absolutely STILL.

Anyway, if I didn't have to play at one, I woudn't go anywhere near any of those over-hyped, over-priced, over-crowded NYE parties. I would much rather just go somewhere casual and hang with my friends.

The last NYE that didn't involve playing somewhere (1999), I just went to a little pub in Katy with some friends and had the time of my life.

Downtown was actually good. They city had lightin around with a huge disco ball and stuff. There were a lot of people down here walking around and going to different clubs.

I liked the turn around compared to last year. It was really dead last year and no one was on the streets.

While I prefer real boobs, I'll take fake D's over real B's any day of the week; moving, or catotonic.:p

December 1, 1997 was the last time I was out at a party/club on New Year's Eve. I had played on basically every New Year's Eve for the past 8 years. After this gig, I was driving my gear back to my rehersal room at around 2:30am and cars were zinging past me on the freeway doing 90-110mph weaving in and out of traffic and veering wildly across lanes of the freeway.

With nearly 1000lbs of gear sitting behind my head, I decided I didn't need to be out on the road with a bunch of drunk idiots and I passed on gigs offered to me after that.

That is one good thing about not getting out of the club until really late. When i am driving home there are hardly any people on the roads that i have to worry about and be looking out for.
