It's been a while since I've celebrated the ringing in of a new year by blowing up a small piece of my country. My girlfriend and I have been talking about shooting some fireworks this year with our kids. Is there anywhere within the greater Houston area that actually allows this, legally?

I know Houston itself explicitly prohibits fireworks. But any number of neighboring cities may allow it, I'm just having trouble finding that information and thought someone here may have already done that research.

I don't think so, but you could always try NASA. :(

Not gonna lie, I still shoot fireworks wherever I'm at. Nothing crazy.

My entire neighborhood descends in hoards to our cul-de-sac to watch my deep-pocketed neighbors set off a professional-worthy show. 4th of July was like a glorious battlefield, with mortar fireworks occasionally getting set off horizontally. Friendswood, Harris County.

You can come to my neighborhood from 10 PM to 5 AM within a week on either side of Christmas or NYE. It's not legal but my neighbors don't seem to give a ****.

The Rosenberg area was lit up like crazy during 4th of July, lots and lots of mortars going off. With all the construction going on too, and empty fields you could see all the local subdivision's shows.

If you go right outside of the city limit, take your pick on where to pop.

Yeah it should be legal anywhere right outside of the Houston City limits.

have you ever thought about calling the cops or would they even do anything? I think this year I will have to try something, my dog goes insane with the illegal use of fireworks.

It's always a lot of fun on the West End of Galveston. People shoot them off at their beach houses and on the beach. You won't get caught unless you are really loud or making a huge scene.

I live on the east side of town (Clear Lake area). My girlfriend on the West side (not too far from Cinco Ranch). I think we are going to find a place in Katy. Thanks for the help, everyone!
