It maybe related to the statement that Yao made in an interview that his foot was 80 percent healed, another 20% would take ~ a year to heal completely, that would be around Feb. What does the 20% stand for? Do not know.

I wouldn't worry too much about a gambling website's youtube video when it comes to Yao's progress.

I just don't like Yao playing on an 80 percent healed foot. He's like a twig snap away from cracking it again.

80% healing is normal for bone injury and return to competition. Bone doesn't heal the same way skin does...same with ligament.

I tore my ACL and returned to play competitive basketball in 5 months, but my doctor said that I wouldn't be clinically healed for 1 year. But my doctor said I had done all I could do and the healing would happen naturally over time.

The bone in Yao's foot has 80% healing...but for the bone to be like it was before it will take more time. That is normal and he can play. If you have ever had a bone or ligament injury this type of statement made by Yao and the doctors is very routine.

They are making to much out of it.

I could see why it was so important for him to play in the Olympics.

Aside from the country thing, Yao Ming has a unique opportunity thats quite unlike any athlete has ever had in terms of endorsements. He's a highly recognizable personality in both america and the host country. and they both happen to be two of the worlds largest economies. He'd be passing up a lot of money if he didn't play.

Yeah agree though I appreciate the eye candy reading the news. Now if she could make it less obvious that she's reading the teleprompter.

I was kind of surprised that the English language CCTV broadcast was done with an American accent. Most of the ones that I saw in Asia the anchors spoke with British accents.
