Well, considering that I've heard Weird Al on the radio maybe one time in my whole life, SOMEBODY has to stick up for him. I'm just amazed that he's made so many crappy songs over the years enjoyable.
I just realized that the hook that starts that song is a sped up version of the ending theme of the Incredible Hulk TV show, you know where he is hitch-hiking?
I heard on the radio this morning that Blunt wasn't too pleased, but I just looked it up and he gave it the thumbs up but his record company is blocking Weird Al from putting it on his next album.
Whaaa. There are worse things in life than having your hit song goofed on by Weird Al. I seem to remember the guys from Nirvana saying they were actually honored when Al goofed Teen Spirit. That's when they knew they had made it. Also, Coolio supposedly wasn't too happy about the goof on Gangsters Paradise, even though Weird Al cleared it with him beforehand. I guess Coolio didn't want to lose his "street cred" but he didn't seem to have a problem with the royalty checks... I hate that beautiful song anyway. What's with that "she could tell that I was f***ing high" lyric? It doesn't fit the context of the song at all.
Weird Al just never goes out of style. Music changes and he just keeps going with the flow. He's the man. What more is there to say.
I take it you weren't a big fan of John Lander's 93Q Morning Zoo. Look out James Blunt, don't mess with Al or your crappy SUNNY 99.9 music will go the same way as Coolio's.
