Thanks Hilltopper I wonder if I have trouble watching these because I am in Kentucky. They just don't buffer and it takes forever to actually get through a whole video. At any rate, I don't mean to complain! LOL I just wondered if you might know of any technical reasons I would have issues?
well, Yao has several things going against him in post-game interviews... 1. He is deaf in his left ear, which makes hearing questions difficult..which usually has him tilting is right ear to the reporter and saying "Uhhh?" 2. Couple the above with the fact that his English Vocabulary is limited, so he sometimes does not understand some words that are pretty basic for you and I, but for a "foreigner" speaking english can be tough. So, the best reporters with Yao, speak loud, clear and use basic vocabulary. 3. Then as in # 2, his limited vocabulary hinders his ability to answer in the best fashion possible. But that is ok. I am proud of Yao and he will only get better in this dept.
I am actually very impressed by the fact that Yao can switch between English and Chinese so effortlessly...

Anybody else not getting audio when playing old clips? I was trying to watch old Rockets clips on that site and can't get the audio to work...
What's the problem with being humble? Do you want him to be so full of himself that he does not look for improvements anymore? Yao is a very good player now but we need him to keep improving to become great in order to compliment Tmac. We need both of them to be great in order to win championships. Period.
Maybe next time, Barkley will say:" Yao is not a surperstar, because his Engilsh is even worse than the most horrible player in this league."
haha..i wonder if players will get boring when they realize the fact that they are to answer the same questions ever since a game ends..
i don't know. with all the time he spends on basketball, I doubt he has any extra time to learn English. He'll probably have to stop playing his video games, which is a sacrifice he's not prepared to make. well, at least his English is the worst among all the foreigners in NBA.
Yao is so funny... i like how he repeats the reporters question and looks confused (around 5:31).. "all the way back?".. haha.. i remember another interview he did this and said back to the reporter "curge??" when he heard the question wrong.. hahahaha
Oh at the end, Yao shows some mean streak telling a reporter he should be fired. LOL I guess he's tired of reporters asking him dumb questions and random people following him home..
You think his English is the worst for all foreign players? You must be kidding me. He speaks better English than I do.
