No power moves from Yao in the practice yet. mostly turn around jump shots. But even when he is not going full out, he looks like a man playing with 5 year olds out there. :D

Yao said he is prob close to 70% of his optimal effectiveness.

Personally I don't see why some of you think he doesn't look healthy. Looks pretty damn mobile to me. He's just taking things easy because it's a light practice. He was cutting just fine.

Yao was just working on his conditioning. He didn't want to
embarrass any of those wannabe's. I think if he went all out
he might even injure one of those little players.
    :D

    Thanks for sharing the video.
Yao looks good, there is still almost 3 full months before the beginning of the season. After seeing this video, I believe he will be ready when the season starts.

    He looks great...... GREAT !!!

All you should be watching is how he is moving...and he looks to be fine to me.

All I can think of, is how those coaches are probably regressing Yao from what he has built up in the NBA. It'll take him half a season to catch back up. :( ;)

Plz. It's time to convince Shawn Bradley to reconsider his retirement. He should be the first option and Yao, his backup. ;)

What coaches you're talking about ? He worked all this summer with Anthony Falsone and David Macha for his rehabilitation. The national coach of China is Jonas Kazlauskas, the Lithuanian coach that almost sprung a surprise win over the US national team coached by Rudy T in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Regressed by inferior coaches ?? You surely don't know what you're talking about.

Naaaaaaah, he is just recovering from a major foot surgery, and it is natural that he is rusty after a long 4-month break from basketball.

He said it before, as a professional basketball player, he can only be 80% to 85% rehabilitated. The rest 15% to 20% will require real actions in team practice and competition. The forthcoming 2nd FIBA Stankovic Continental Champion Cup (August 10 ~ 15) in Nanjing, and the World Championship (August 19 ~ September 3) in Sapporo, Japan should be able to help him back into top fit competitive shape and form.

He looked good to me. Yao was moving with ease and didn't seem to be in any pain.
