Did anyone else see someone holding up a silver rockets jersey with #11 and Yao on the back of it the other night during the game? I think it was during the halftime break - it went by real fast but it was definetly a silver or light grey jersey with YAO on it.
I didn't watch the game. But on Ebay there are many silver and gray Yao jerseys for bidding. I don't know if that's the new rockets jersey.

All they are is an alternative jersey. Back in June, I purchased an all red (no pinstripes) Francis jersey in North Carolina, You don't see many of those. But if you go to a Rockets game, the Silver Yao Ming jerseys are everywhere. They aren't jerseys for next year, just replica alternatives.
Personally, I think Rockets have one of the ugliest jersey in the league. I hope they change to a new one as soon as possible. A silver color sounds good. Maybe silver and black on back and front. Or silver and red.
Yeah! Nobody else's team has **** brown! And it would work so well with the way the team's playing! It could even be part of a cheer that would rock the arena: "Wipe it up, deoderize! What a bunch of CRAP! All for the Rockets, Stand up and CLAP!"
You are probably talking bout this jersey: Bought this last month and I think they are only selling these at the Compaq Center. I intially bought the original home jerseys but bought a XXL, which was TOO HUGE, so I brought it back the next week and asked if i could exchange it for another one, but all they were selling were the gray ones. I personally like the gray ones better, its different and not many teams use the gra color. Whats weird is that I bought it for $50 and now have jacked it up to $60. Thank goodness that I bought it last month.
This has been discussed before, but ... 1. The silver jersey is not the new uniform. 2. We're still working on the new uniform and we probably won't show anything until late summer. 3. The silver jerseys are just part of a Reebok "Alternative NBA" line of merchandise. They have an "unofficial alternative jersey" for every team. Tim
Actually, pinstripes can be pretty sharp if they're done right. The one's on our uni's now are just plain weird.
Tim - I don't think I'd be out of line to say the team screwed up last time they did new jerseys. Why wait till late summer before releasing any info on the new jerseys this time. Look at how the Texans did it. Even though they knew what they wanted, they had a poll anyways and people who didn't like the name gradually bought into it (such as myself) so that by the time the uniforms were released I thought they were kick-ass and everything fit together great. All I'm saying is, how about some sort of poll - "What do you think the Rockets new color combo should be?" or "What will the Rockets primary color be?", even if you have the one you want already picked out. Pretty please.
I think Tim already mentioned the NBA doesn't allow any uniform news until after the NBA Finals... And last time, they did a contest. I remember the idea that one as new logo was nothing like what the team ultimately went with. That one was much more faithful to the old color scheme.
True, true... Pinstripe can look good if done right. But, we have MAGIC-MARKER stripes. There's no "pin" about it.
Rockets need to go back to the red and gold to send the NBA message that the rockets are back to win the championship
