    Hey guys, time for some new trailers that were originally shown behind closed doors months ago:

    I think both trailers have some realtime footage at the end.

    Trailers actually hit earlier in the day, but I was busy with finals. In fact, I think there might be some new info/media for both games later in the month (I think Jump Festa is coming up...might be wrong, busy with finals). I thought I read that they would release info about the demo release by the end of the December.

    BTW, not that this should be surprising, but I think the latest GameInformer issue hinted that FF13 might not be out in the US until the end of 2010. Versus actually looks a little further along than I would have expected (already have gameplay/realtime media out), but I'd probably be setting myself up for disappointment if I would expect a US release date prior to late 2011. :(

    At least both are starting to seem like real games now...

    Versus still looks better...But when the first trailers came out, i thought FFXIII looked like crap....atleast compared to versus' first trailer.


    But in all honesty, I want kingdom hearts 3 more than this game....

    My dream game has always been to combine the combat of Ninja Gaiden with the rpg elements and story of Final Fantasy.

    The first trailer looked like Star Wars, right down to the flying ships and storm troopers.

    The second one looked like a combination of The Matrix and a Japanese gangster movie.

    Where's the fantasy? They need to start calling these Final Future or something. I mean, a Benz driving along a road? What the heck?

    Versus does seem pretty different from other FF games in that regard (more modern-esque setting). FF13 does have a lot of the advanced tech, but it seems like it will have a good dose of fantasy elements as well. Both games (along with FF13 Agito) are apart of the same universe, so that might have something to do with it. Plus, I think in Versus, one city is considerably more advanced than the others. Whatever that means.

    FF9, FF10, and FF12 seemed to have a healthy dose of fantasy IMO (and FF11 if you want to include that), so I don't mind them going in a slightly different direction. Of course, the most future-esque FF game (FF7...though I guess you might argue FF8 is more future-esque) is the most popular one, so maybe this isn't a bad direction.

    Ummmm, I don't think the word "fantasy" is synonymous with "medieval times".

    The fantasy in the title is meant to be more like "creative imagination". So as long as the games are continuing to have large expansive stories, it's fine to be called Final Fantasy

    I'm starting to question more and more why they don't do this. If you are a corporation, your goal is typically to maximize revenues while decreasing costs. With FF7, you already have your storyline, music, etc already created. And you know that game would be the highest grossing FF since...well, FF7.
