Just make sure you buy a forklift with it... I just got through helping a friend move a 36" inch Sony Wega XBR tv... damn thing weighed 235 lbs. I felt like I was lifting Moochie Norris. No TV that small should weigh that much.

... but oh man is it a beautiful tv and picture!

    Ha ha. Very funny rockHEAD...

If you don't want a projection TV or a plasma, then you must want a direct-view TV, which is what the Sony Wega is. I'm not sure what your budget is (that Sony you linked to was $2500), but I would try to get a widescreen TV, if only to watch DVDs and possible HDTV. The Sona Wegas are nice, but be sure to get the XBR kind (that use a Trinitron monitor). The one you linked to is an XBR one. As Dr. of Dunk pointed out, the Wegas are a b**** to move due to being super heavy. I think my brother's 36 inch Wega TV weighs like 300 lbs., and believe it or not, most of that weight resides in the front part of the TV (making the weight quite unevenly distributed). Here are some more direct-view TVs for your consideration...

Sony KV34XBR800 - just like the one you linked to (an XBR), only widescreen (and smaller)...
    Panasonic CT34WX52
    Phillips 30PW9818
Toshiba 34HDX82 (I have a Toshiba rear projection TV, and I love it...)

I'd also suggest checking out review sites, like Audioreview.com, eCoustics.com, and epinions.com, for research purposes.

If you want the best deal, but you're unsure about buying a TV online, keep in mind that Sears does price match online stores... :)
