Surprised I didn't see this posted here yet but thought I would share the info..... Below is this year's draft cap with the T-Wolves new secondary logo on it. Gone form the package is green. Colors are now blue, black and silver.....the Main logo will pretty much remain the same, just few minor cosmetic changes.... ....Somewhere, Mark Cuban is probably dialing up David Stern as we speak. That logo is very much like the Mavs current logo.
The T-Wolves also inadvertently leaked the sharpened primary logo on their website. Notice the tweaked wolf head on the "summer 08" and the new script in the flyer..... http://www.nba.com/timberwolves/promotions/summersweeps.html New: Compared too current
I know what they're trying to get at with the new logo but I can see it getting made fun of. They're trying at least. Their logo and uni's always seemed 90'sed out but maybe their uniform will look decent. There's only so many uniform color coordinations that look good, so similarities to other unis are inevitable.
No team in the NBA uses green, blue, black and silver. Its unique....and the Wolves ditched it. Bad move. They should have added usage more green a la the original uniform set they had....

It would've looked better if they made the ball white to resemble the moon and the wolf's head a silhouette.
Probably so. Didnt like the overall design but liked their color combo with the green. Still, not like a team's gonna go hot pink and gold for EXTRA uniqueness And on second look, DEFINITE Mavericks copycat'ing on the 2nd logo AND colors. The only unique part is the change itself. Agreed. They're trying to get a howl at the moon effect and that would have been nicer. Instead of whatever its doing now, having a wolf-gasm or something...
Wow, and I thought the D-Backs ripped off the Astros ! There should be a rule on team colors . These colors are almost an exact color match to the Mavs . Its getting to where I have to do a double take sometimes to figure out what teams are playing .
mayne shouldve been a silver, light blue, green, and black. there are too many blues in the league. I like the idea of the ball being like a silverish white to resemble a moon. maybe it is blue to resemble a blue moon
i just dont like logos with too much detail. i think a logo has to be simple enough for an average person to draw it with some sort of success.
That's what I was thinking...and it looks like the Mavs logo Anything that pisses off Mark Cuban makes me happy
