    Ben Affleck is the host.
Nelly the musical guest (I wonder if Christina will make an appearance?)

I'm looking forward to their take on the debate.

Will Tina Fey have a co-anchor on Weekend Update?

I thought that was pretty funny and I thought the actors did a good job as the candidates.

He had the mannerisms down but that's about it. I don't think they have anyone else on the staff that could do it though.

I'd have to give the debate skit a: C+ Dragged on too long (as most SNL skits do).

Opening monologue: A (and it's not even over yet).

    Baldwin rocks.

    Debby Downer: D

This skit was a downer. I read in Entertainment Weekly they thought it was the smash skit from last year (Lohan episode). This one bombed.

It was probably a smash hit last year because Fallon and Horatio couldn't stop laughing during the skit (what a suprise), and as a result they made the normally professional Dratch (debbie downer) start laughing as well.

Thus, you had everybody laughing, including the one person who was supposed to be gloomy as part of the sketch = major laughs.

This one, they kept it real... and not many laughs.

    DD was a one-hit wonder.

Overall I'd have to give the show about a B minus.

It wasn't great, but certainly didn't bomb. The thing that concerns me is the guys doing Kerry and Bush. They aren't that good at it and you know we are going to see them every week from here on out.

i was really hoping that Will Ferrell would make a suprise appearance as W and Sheri Oteri would make a suprise appearance as Teresa Heinz Kerry

am i the only one who thinks that Oteri would be the most perfect performer to do Heinz?

Amy Phoeler was a bad choice for Weekend Update. She was too cutesy and giddy every time she talked. The news anchor is supposed to a talk more seriously and act like an actual news anchor. Not like some teenage girl that is on TV for the first time. They should have went with Seth Myers.

i thought Maya did a great job.
She just has to use her Donatella Versace voice
And I think she looks more like THK than Oteri does.

Yeah, kinda like Fallon eh?

    And this:

should never be uttered for anything.

For the first time since Norm, I think weekend update will be something to look forward to. From what I saw of the show, only the escalator skit and the weekend update were worth a damn. The political segments were blah, and Affleck ruins just about everything he's in. Totally agree with Nick about DD.
