Man this movie looks good as far as the previews go that and Russel Crowe is in it man can this guy act!! Did yall see A Butif Mind that was a awsome movie with reallly good acting and of course you cant forget the Gladiator. I cant wait for tomm im gona go see first thing
Have you guys seen the previews? They are actually billing this as the "Most Anticipated Movie of 2003." I really think that Return of the King is just a tad more anticipated than this....even both of the Matrix sequels had a ton more buzz than this movie.
yeah its is a whole series..this movie is based on the first book http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=2WBIB5FVW2&isbn=0393307050&itm=3
as the father of a 3 year old, i'm far more anticipating the release of The Cat in the Hat...despite what the critics may say. "It's fun to have fun, but you have to know how." - The Cat in the Hat.
I'm hoping it's just a tad better than The Grinch, which blew hardcore. The Cat in the Hat does look pretty damn funny. "He's talking, but is he really saying anything?"
This movie doesn't appeal to me. The Last Samurai and Troy look interesting, though. Oh yeah, and Return of the King.
As a huge history buff, I've been waiting for this movie since I saw the first previews this summer. Russell Crowe is the greatest working actor out right now. And since I had an ancestor who was a frigate captain in the Royal Navy on my father's side of the family, it holds special interest to me. As for the Last Samurai, why would anyone want to see Tom Cruise as a samurai wannabe? He's just too clean-cut to have fought in the American Civil War.
I'd like to know how much they spent on marketing this movie, I work in a movie theater and they sent us the biggest cardboard stand for the movie. Honestly, the thing had to be 12 to 15 feed wide by about 8 feet tall. And, during October everyone in the movie theater that worked there wore t-shirts that promoted the movie and the release date.
one wonders if it would have been as successful if it would gone under its original title, "War, what is it good for?"
Actually Perrin, I was reading article today that said most of it is based on the 10th book in the series (the one where they go to South America, I can't remember the ame) although it has the title of the first. Anyway, yeah I read Master and Commander and Post Captain. They were very good but I was sort of leery about committing myself to reading the other 12 books, Maybe I'll read like one a year from here on out.
