Sorry if posted before, but I saw the new "R You In" BillBoard this morning on I-10 West near the Shephard exit. It has Yao, T-Mac, JJ, Mo, and Boki on it. Sorry no pics.
Hmmmm... Mo is on there, but not J Howard? Looks like they wanted to put everybody on there who is actually still on the team from last year, lol. With one very significant addition. Still, it's funny not to include any of our other new acquisitions- Howard, Sura, Ward, Lue... I guess outside of Howard, none of them are "names." But Boki is?
I guess they thought it couldn't hurt to have *one* white guy on there. Marketing is such a cynical profession.
Saw it today in which I almost caused an accident on the freeway when passing by it. I was AMAZED that Boki was on the poster, it was basically this order in which they were standing: JJ, MoT, Yao, Boki, and TMac with each of them alterating jerseys (JJ was wearing red, MoT white, and so on) Was amazed that Boki made the poster because they havent even picked up his option yet. Oh well, media day, trainning camp, etc.. START ALREADY!!! At least, the NBA Season preview magazines are coming out, bought the Streets and Smith preview last week and saw another one today through Athlon (sp?) Pro Basketball.
It would be nice if someone could get a photo of this billboard for us out-of-towners to see. Last year Rockets.com had photos but I think they are falling asleep at the switch over there!
There's also one on 290 by Antoine, if I remember correctly, as well that says R You In with Yao and TMac both streching one arm out horizontaly with a basketball in the middle. Ill see if I can snap a pic when I come home from work tonight.
Gotta Love It! BTW, I saw the billboard also, right outside of downtown, and thought it was very interesting. I guessed they were promoting the familiar faces.
Maybe its JVG's way of motivating Nachbar. I hope it gets him fired up and lets him see the Rox would like to continue adding him in thier mix of marketable players. The only 2 guys left from the Rudy era are him and Mo.
they should've put all the new guys since they recently "R in" it would be more fitting. i don't know what i would do if i saw deke on a billboard.....probobly run like in a godzilla film.
I saw this billboard too, and can't remember for the life of me who it is that is the odd man out with a different uniform than the rest of the guys... YAO is in the center... (read CENTER) I love it...!
