I think I just had a seizure... Why are they starting a new ad campaign? The first one worked so well.
Yea they should just stick to that evil little doll that makes noise! That alone made me want to get a PS3.
i dig it ALOT, i was impressed when I saw it for the first time when I was watching the Suns/Sonics game, almost, ALMOST, makes me want to buy it /end Xbox fanboy btw, Saliva? sounds like them
The only Commercial they should have is one without any sound, graphics, people, ps3 images, but only numbers and maybe some letters .. Something like this PS3 under $300 Now that will sell as manay PS3 in all of 2007 in 3 months time.
Wasn't there supposed to be a price drop at the end of October? Down to $399 now? Did that ever happen?
Yea it drops tomorrrow. I got the promo in the email from Gamestop. 40 gig for $399 includes Spiderman 3 on bluray.
399 is awfully tempting, but I'll wait until more good exclusives hit the system before picking one up. And hell, if MGS4 gets a 360 port, I may just abstain altogether unless some other incredible game hits the system (God of War 3?)
Uncharted is going to be good and UT3! I can't wait for the new unreal tournament, although that will eventually get a 360 release too. So I dunno. Guess we will have to wait for MGS4.
Saliva's "Ladies and Gentlemen" IIRC. Actually, it officially dropped today (11/2). I think some stores might have started selling them early too. I wouldn't count on a MGS4 port, at least not anytime soon. If it does happen, I'm pretty sure we won't find out about it when MGS4 is released. They'd probably just port the re-released version of MGS4 to the 360 that they always put out a year or two later (like Substance and Subsistence). MGO might be likely though. As for the ad, it does seem really nice. I never really had much of a problem with the original ads, but then again, I kind of like weird commercials (although some of the complaints I heard about the commercials were kind of stupid IMO). But I think this kind of ad definitely delivers the message that Sony is trying to send to people, and does it an effective way. Actually, I've really liked their commercials for Heavenly Sword and Ratchet & Clank as well; interested to see what the ad for Uncharted will be like (they should just add the Indiana Jones theme to a random trailer ). Here are the two other ads I was mentioning if you haven't seen them: <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=24728"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=24728" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=8,0,0,0" id="gtembed" width="480" height="392"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=27283"/> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="http://www.gametrailers.com/remote_wrap.php?mid=27283" swLiveConnect="true" name="gtembed" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="true" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="392"></embed> </object>
Just watched the Uncharted trailer and it looks really good. Looks like the whole game won't be in the jungle. The Rachet and Clank commercial looks like a Pixar movie and is really impressive. It also looks like Sony is once again going back to the Spiderman theme and having the PS3 look and act like Venom in the commercials.
yeah, the new full Uncharted trailer is f'in sick...looks incredible R&C is an awesome game btw, for anyone who hasn't played it. top-notch all the way around
Actually, my primary excuse is because I am upgrading my Home Theater piece by piece. I just got the HD-DVD add-on for the 360 (Even got a brand new 360 with the HDMI, thanks to an extended warranty and the RRoD), and to get just about any Blu-Ray player is going to cost about as much as the $399 for the PS3 anyway.. next step will be a new HK receiver which will do the HDMI switching for me, and I will be all set, in HD heaven.. (oh and it doesn't hurt to be able to play PS3 -and even PS2 - games either) By the way, I have never owned a PS2. There have been a handful of PS2 games I would not have minded playing, but have never been able to. How is the backwards-compatibility these days with the PS3? It wouldn't be horrible to be able to go grab things like God of War and others from the bargain bin, even at this late date...
If the 399 is the 40 GB PS3 (not sure), it does not play PS2 games. One of the things we were discussing in that price drop thread, unfortunately.
What the..? Crap. Not at ALL? Dang it, that's why I asked.. I thought I had seen something along the lines of them saying that on the older units they actually used actual PS2 hardware on the inside, but on this later model, they were going to use emulation. But not at ALL? Hmm.. that's not so good.. is that confirmed for certain?
