We did this before the season and now that the Kool Aid has turned into a 2-0 record I am gonna vote yes they will make the playoffs.
i'm trying really, really hard not to be overconfident. many teams have started 4-0 or 6-1 and falter at the end. ughh, just can't believe they'll make the playoffs yet.
Too many variables. We could go 11-5 and miss the playoffs or go 8-8 and make the playoffs. Too early to tell.
Next week is a test. I'm not willing to say they can make the playoffs after beating a bunch of scrubs in one game and a team that is teetering on the edge of being a playoff contender. So until next week, NO. (They don't have to beat the Colts to make the playoffs, but they DO have to put up a fight)
i just don't think it'll happen in the AFC.. I expect the 4 division winners and then the West (Den/SD) and North (Pitt/Bal/Cin) to get the other 2 spots.. but I still expect what I've expected since well before preseason. Either 8-8 or 9-7.
The way we have played these first two weeks, no reason we dont win at least 4 out of 7 against Atlanta, Miami, Cleveland, Oakland, New Orleans, Denver, and Tampa. I think that's being conservative. That puts us at 6 wins. Winning 3 games from our division (again, not a reach at all) puts us at 9 wins. Therefore, IMO, a conservative win total is about 9, barring any major injuries (AJ's knee). 9 wins might give you a wild card spot, although that may be tough in the AFC. However, that doesnt mean 9 wins wont get you there. 10 wins is a possibility for this team though. My vote is that we make the playoffs. Im leaning more towards 10 wins than 9.
Barring major injuries we might even make some noise in there.Yes,I wish we had more depth, but we're on our way.
With a remarkable run of health on O-Line and receivers, they can make the playoffs. I just don't see that happening. Because it's the NFL, some offensive lineman will go down. The second team OL isn't NFL-quality.
Kasey Studdard disagree's, I am praying Spencer can come back so I feel as good about the T position as I do the G position.
I forgot about him. Yeah, guard depth isn't bad. And Flanagan's old, but he could probably do pretty good for a couple of games at center. So, I'll temper my statement and say that if a tackle gets hurt, it could get ugly.
I'm erring on the side of caution. As much fun as yesterday was, my vote probably won't change unless I see them hold their own against somebody like Indianapolis/SD/New Cheatland/etc. Of course, that's a little disingenuous of me as they already beat Indy to start this (how freaking cool is it to say this) four-game winning streak. Texas are 2-0 baby!! SWEEEET!
I said yes before, with a 10-6 record. With healthy players I stand pat. We will be a wild card team and we have a chance to win our first playoff game. I think it depends on Green staying healthy, and of course AJ staying healthy, his knee injury is scary. but at least if he doesn't miss more than 2 games we shouldn't be set back.
