Anyone been there yet? It's off 288. It opened I think last week and all the shops are outside. Very nice indeed. Still a couple more shops to be opened of course though. http://www.PearlandTownCenter.com/shop/pearland.nsf/index
Been there...its very nice. Its like a small town..not a giant plaza. They are building some luxury apartments right above the stores too...they have a hotel there...a pavilion...plus there is still a lot of space in the back for future development.
The traffic at the intersection of 288 & FM 518 is crazy. And now this. I remember when they started construction of the Southwyck subdivision. After a few years, it slowed down a lot, got sold and was renamed Silverlake. Ever since, the growth/traffic on and near 288 has exploded. I guess that's called progress.
Technically, Its called the Pearland Town Center, kinda like a rival to the Sugarland Town Center. I personally haven't had the opportunity to stop in just yet, but it looks pretty nice and family and friends of mine who have been there say its good. At the moment, I've been told its operational at about 85% right now. Im just happy that there a BJ's near me now.... Pazookie time!!!
the site plan looks like an oasis in a sea of parking lots.... really, really, REALLY dislike that layout. the mall itself looks nice, though.
agreed. looks awful to me. Just another typical mall layout but instead it's outdoors. If it's gonna be outdoors in Housron, do something to make people want to get out of their cars. In 20 years, this will be a disaster and completely condemed in 30 years. The Woodlands has legit office and living spaces that can support their new villiage. It's very well done. This Pearland center looks to be a failure.
WTF? I opened that mall working at Sears.......Holy cow that takes me back. We also used to race our cars around the outer roadway of the parking lot, individually timed races, about at midnight....man.....that takes me way back. DD
Wow...A mall in Pearland. I remember when all of that land on 288 was farmland, and that was less than 20 years ago.
I went back today this afternoon and realized the lack of Mens clothes. there was some but not much, I'll stick with the galleria.
Sugarland has a similar outdoors mall and its doing very well. Pearland will do just fine as well. It has big anchor stores ... Macy's and Dillard's. There are luxury apartments and a hotel in this new town center and there is a lot more development planned for the future.
