So I was having an argument with this guy who said the Hornets deserved the pick and their "fans" deserve it. So I replied back and said "what fans? you mean the fans who dont even show up to the games when they were good?" and he replies back and say when the Hornets were good in 08 their fans constantly showed up to the games and supported them.

what is your opinion about the hornets fan support and attendance? if you guys ever been to a rockets/hornets game in new orleans how was it?

I went to a Rockets game in New Orleans during the 09-10 season. The lower bowl actually was pretty full but there was no one in the upper bowl.

my family is from new orleans and my aunt has been a season ticket holder for some time so i went to my fair share of hornets games (when cp3 was there)

new orleans is a football town (a bandwagon one).

even back in 2007-08 when they were winning 56 games they didn't really have a deep crowd on a night to night basis.

Honestly, it is what it is. If your team isn't doing well, regardless of superstars, then it is hard to bring oneself to go.

OTOH, if your team is doing pretty good, with or without superstars, it makes the decision easier to go.

I believe a year or two ago they struggled to meet the minimum attendance required.

    There's a minimum attendance requirement?

What happens if a team doesn't reach the requirement?

Yeah, I think they have to have an average of 13,000 people at home games.

I think there's a financial penalty for not meeting minimum numbers, which completely misses the point of the problem anyway.

I doubt they would get a big crowd but if cp3 stayed then they would prolbly have a sold out crowd IMO

My apologies, the Hornets have a unique deal where their lease is voided if they don't get an average of 14,375 fans per game. I misremembered the article.
