    Yao
    Bogans
    Wesley
    Howard
    Alston

Yes, McGrady is a huge loss but but if Bogans can continues to
step up as he has since becoming a Rocket all is not lost. Dude is shooting at 47.4 % and his rebounding just as good as Tracy if he was given starter minutes. He's shooting better than Tracy, he's getting into the paint and drawing fouls on the other team. He's also playing good defense. The negative is he's shooting only 64.9 % at the charity stripe. The Rockets got the talent they just gotta want it more than the other team every day, every game. Perfect examples:

    Rockets 103
    Pacers 99

    Rockets 106
    Kings 95

If we can just make it to the playoffs and McGrady comes back in time at 90% health we will be so much stronger as team. This could still be the year!

gonna be tough with the upcoming schedule, but I like the optimism

If Yao keeps playing like a man possesed, I think we still have a slim chance at the playoffs. Time to ride on his shoulders circa Hakeem in the mid 90's

Yes, the starting lineup may not be terrible.

But you're forgetting one crucial thing -- Ryan Bowen is going to get a bump up in the rotation. :(

I think we are going to be REALLY surprised at what this lineup can do. Bogans can play defense better than an injured Tmac, and if he can hit the open 3 with Yao being double teamed, we might really surprise people.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I like Bowen's hustle but he's got to learn how to shoot the dam ball in pressure/game situations. He supposedly shoots lights out in practice but gametime its like night and day. It gotta be mental so we should make him shoot over Yao during practice. :D

You guys must be on drugs. Without T-mac, we have NO one who can create his own shot, if Yao is guarded effectively, the primeter game could get absolutely ugly.

LOL! You mean absolutely uglier. Even with T-Mac in the game, our guards couldn't hit sh*t from the outside. Unless the entire team steps up and Yao keeps it up, we're dead in the water.

    Whatever. Go Rockets.

I have some hope with Swift, he can at least out jump someone and create a mismatch if he gets the ball. Rafer made some crazy shots for Toronto too, but he stopped doing that under JVG (probably a good thing). It will be difficult for sure.

Like you said, go rockets anyway

If Ming scores 82 I'm with you.

That is a lineup that will scare absolutely no other team in the NBA. Wesley, Bogans, and Alston have not proven that they can consistently shoot well from the outside. If they just shoot 45%, there is a chance. And they will have wide open looks, so wide open that they can act like foul shooters. I look for every team to send three to four players after Ming. Rocket's opponents have ample evidence of the our team's outside shooting futility.

That is another myth with a caveat.

In truth, Skip and Luther can indeed creat their own shots. Now can they knock it down at least 40% of the time? That is what we just have to wait and see.

Anyway, with a healthy dose of Yao's inside game and Skip/Howard pick 'n pop we should at least have something that should work against majority of the teams.

At this point of the season it is all about heart, heart and more heart.

And lets not forget during that stretch without Mcgrady to begin the season where they were 0-8 without Mcgrady, we had to go with Ryan Bowen and yet the Rockets were still in all those games right to the end. So I don't see the Rockets struggling the way they did previously without Mcgrady. Of course the other factor is Yao Ming is now playing as if someone came from another world and possessed his soul. Those two factors coupled with the play of Alston, Swift, and Head at key points in the game give me reason to believe this Rocket team can still make a run at the playoffs.

Skip and Luther are worse than Mike James at creating their own shot and I thought MJ was only an average finisher, though he did have a highlight dunk on NBA TV yesterday. Wonder if MJ would come back to H-Town for the MLE next year.

I like the Yao Ming starting at center but would take ANY teams other 4 instead of our starting 4.

and when you look at our bench, it really gets scary..

I highly disagree. Tracy is a way better defender than Bogans even while injured. He can give Kobe Fits even while in pain.

We are two back of a playoff spot which is currently being held by sacramento (new orleans is done) and we hold the tiebreak so the playoffs are still within reach. Trust me T-MAC will be back sooner than later the Rockets always overestimate injuries.

I will take this lineup and bench playing smart and up to their abilities to be able to stay two back of the Kings until T-MAC is back.

We are on the last leg of the playoff race. It's not the time to see what a bench player can do. We need to go to war with Swift and Howard. GO ROCKETS!!!
