whoa could it really be true!? http://space.com/news/060309_ark_update.html Satellite Sleuth Closes in on Noah’s Ark Mystery High on Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey, there is a baffling mountainside "anomaly," a feature that one researcher claims may be something of biblical proportions. Images taken by aircraft, intelligence-gathering satellites and commercial remote-sensing spacecraft are fueling an intensive study of the intriguing oddity. But whether the anomaly is some geological quirk of nature, playful shadows, a human-made structure of some sort, or simply nothing at all—that remains to be seen. Whatever it is, the anomaly of interest rests at 15,300 feet (4,663 meters) on the northwest corner of Mt. Ararat, and is nearly submerged in glacial ice. It would be easy to call it merely a strange rock formation. But at least one man wonders if it could be the remains of Noah's Ark—a vessel said to have been built to save people and selected animals from the Great Flood, the 40 days and 40 nights of deluge as detailed in the Book of Genesis. The Genesis blueprint of the Ark detailed the structure as 6:1 length to width ratio (300 cubits by 50 cubits). The anomaly, as viewed by satellite, is close to that 6:1 proportion. Identifying the Ararat anomaly has been a 13-year-long quest of Porcher Taylor, an associate professor in paralegal studies at the University of Richmond's School of Continuing Studies in Virginia. Taylor has been a national security analyst for more than 30 years, also serving as a senior associate for five years at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. "I've got new found optimism ... as far as my continuing push to have the intelligence community declassify some of the more definitive-type imagery," Taylor told SPACE.com/LiveScience. He points to a "new and significant development," a high-resolution image taken by DigitalGlobe's impressive QuickBird satellite and shown here publicly for the first time [alternate version with no annotation]. "I'm calling this my satellite archeology project," Taylor said. It's an effort that has now included use of QuickBird, GeoEye's Ikonos spacecraft, Canada's Radarsat 1, as well as declassified aerial and satellite images taken by the various U.S. intelligence agencies. ive actually seen an old documentary on noah's ark. it is actually there on mt. ararat and the area is closely guarded by the government in turkey. there are first-hard accounts of natives actually climbing inside the ark and the dimensions are pretty much exactly as they are stated in the bible. i mean, i dont know if thats absolute proof of its existence, but its crazy to think that something from so long ago still exists.
The Lord, the Lord Jehovah has given unto you these fifteen... Oy! Ten! Ten commandments for all to obey!
Why does everything having to do with a religion automatically become a topic of debate? This is an article about a guy who think he may have found the ark, nothing more, nothing less.
But at least one man wonders if it could be the remains of Noah's Ark—a vessel said to have been built to save people and selected animals from the Great Flood, the 40 days and 40 nights of deluge as detailed in the Book of Genesis. Flood? It is called Hydraulic Drilling. Do the Math. 40 days is 960 hours (40x24). Mt. Ararat is about 10,000 feet high. 10.4 feet per hour. The North American record for rainfall ina 24 hour period is something like 44 inches. Let's round up 48 inches or 4 feet per day. Creationists will now probably try to strike math from school curriculum.
maybe we just believe in "supernatural occurences"...don't always need to have an explanation for everything except that sometimes there is no explanation. i wasn't there when the flood happened, but i believe it happened. why the hell would almost every culture have some sort of "flood" story lying in it's history (or creation story for that matter)? you and your math are not smarter than your creator and his perfection...you are trying to bind him to the limits of our human world - but he is not bound by the same things that bind us. if he wanted 10000 feet of water to fall from heaven on one day, he could do it. you say "The North American record for rainfall ina 24 hour period is something like 44 inches. Let's round up 48 inches or 4 feet per day."...but how can you say such a thing when the Bible clearly has recorded rainfall that was greater. yes, recorded - a long time ago.
That looks like the Virgin Mary to me. Wait a second..... Is that a satellite photo of a microwave plate?
1. I would assume that the North American record for rainfall was concentrated over a relatively small area than God flooding the world. 2. It is God after all. 3. And that emphasizes the entire problem evolutionists have with creationism. You can't apply science to religion.
