Anyone see the story on FOX 26 news tonight about the new rock station starting in less than a month? Sounds good!

According to reports it will have:
Walton and Johnson in the mornings
    Jim Pruett middays
    Outlaw Dave afternoons

And it will be owned by Cumulus, NOT Clear Channel!

It's about time. The Buzz and the Arrow are pretty bad.

Thats excellent news. I dont know much about Cumulus but its not too hard to beat the Clear Channel generic playlist.

Ugh. Hopefully they'll just shut up and play music.

It probably wouldnt be as good as they were, but I wish they would team up Stevens and Pruitt again and have them on in the morning. I never got into W&J

    Damn! Agreed 100%.

I just have ZERO interest in funny people on the radio. When I'm driving, I want to hear music particularly on a "music" station.

When the Buzz was doing their Tsunami Telethon last week, that was some of the best programming I'd heard in years because it was ALL REQUEST and they took ANYTHING as long as you made a contribution. I heard Pink Floyd, Butthole Surfers, Linkin Park, Steely Dan, Madonna, Van Halen, Foo Fighters, Heart, Korn, U2, No Doubt and on and on. And, some of it was obscure stuff as well.

It was so much more interesting than the same **** over and over.

I couldn't agree more. It was so funny listening to the DJ's cringe after some like Celine Dion, Poison, etc.

You'd think they could have a "jukebox" station like this all the time.

You forgot to mention the Fishhead song!:D

I agree...that was the best day of Houston FM radio in a long time.

I'd love to hear them in the morning again. I've never even heard W and J.

I agree with you about music on the radio Jeff, but the morning drive time is the only time I want to hear funny guys and not music. Laughing in the morning is always a good thing. I want to laugh on the way to my boring job.

I really wish they'd bring back Stevens and the Boner to team with Pruitt (what happened to Lock Stevenhousen?) and ditch the horrible Walter and Johnson show. I tried to get into their routine, but in my opinion they were terrible...but any new Rock station in Houston, NOT OWNED BY CLEAR CHANNEL is a very good thing!

My only question is why both 97.5 & 103.7? Am I reading that correct that they're going to be broadcasting from both FM stations?

I hear ya. I just never wanted to hear anything like that in the morning. I wanted music - still do - or, if it is talk, sports talk so it is mildly sensible. :)

Hmmm, a "jukebox" station. Pay for play?
    Sounds good to me.

Did you post an "Outlaw Dave & Steve Fixx will be out of a job, but as long as "you guys" are happy..." thread when KLOL became a Latin station.

    Nah, bet not.

I don't think there was anyone here happy about the KLOL move. I could be wrong.

I heard 93.7 playing Guns n' Roses yesterday - seems Clear Channel has a stack of bands they don't know where to fit into their music schemes anymore so they're just shoveling them wherever they can...

    F Clear Channel.

Don't know about that, but my post was in reference to AB's bitter sounding reply about two DJ's from an "urban" station will now be out of a job, but oh well since "we're" happy.

You know exactly what his intonation was, the genres of music involved, and the primary audiences involved.

That's one of the reasons I occasionally like Bob FM. They play, whatever they want with little repitition.
