http://movies.aol.com/movie-trailer-clip/ghost-rider-nicolas-cage It doesn't look half as bad as what I predicted. It's good that they can poke fun on how ridiculous the character is.
my first thought? cool effects, but i think we saw the whole movie in that trailer. it'll make a nice comic book film, better than hulk but nowhere near x-men. i'll pass.
Considering this was really the only comic book I got into as a kid, I'll definitely have to see it. It's surprising they chose to revive this, though. The comic itself only lasted 81 episodes. But they were pretty bad-ass. At least for a 12 year old.
I enjoyed that Line of Comics [it included the Nightstalkers - which had Blade in it] Basically Marvel's line of 'supernatural' and Magic comics Rocket River
Considering that ALL comic book movies made thus far have sucked badly, (yes including the spider-man movies) I think I will keep giving them a try until they get it right. I never saw the Hulk one, it just looked too stupid. X-men being probably the only one even close to being decent, and even that sucked. Highlights of the X-men films are as follows : Nightcrawler at the beginning of X-men 2. thats it. If Nightcrawler was in all the X-men movies, or hell, in every movie ever made, they would all kick ass.
That's exactly why I'm excited about the Iron Man movie they are doing in 2008. For the first time ever, the actual comic company calls the shots in the movie. I've heard too many stories of Marvel getting pissed at executive decisions made by the studios, especially Fox (X-men, Daredevil, Fantastic Four) and Universal (Hulk). They basically stepped up to the plate and said, "Screw you guys, you don't know our characters, we can do better." Sony has done better than the other two in terms of getting the feel of the characters, so I'm hopeful that Ghostrider will follow the care that went into Spider-Man.
